The thing I love about Oleksuk is he takes pride in his defensive contributions. He’s often been first back beating even D men. Rarely gets caught overcommitted.
I like what he brings to solidify us, which we need in a Fix style of hockey.

All those hacks and chops were relatively minor though compared to completely flattening a player when we’d already scored.raetiamann wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 1:41 pmIn scoring the goal, Valley was slashed and possibly x checked. No penalty called on Storm for that and I think Connelly was reacting to that with his x check. Conns had also taking some off the puck hacking & chopping in the minute or two before the goal. Nowhere near as bad as the Springer incident imo.
Doesn’t matter what lead up to the incident, that’s up to the officials to call, if Springer had done that to one of our players after we’d scored we’d expect a bigger punishment I’m sure.

Not going to get more than 2mins for that in the EIHL. Wilson targeted Connolly from early on and it worked as he goaded him into that minor, a Manchester PP. That’s hockey.smbmetal wrote:All those hacks and chops were relatively minor though compared to completely flattening a player when we’d already scored.raetiamann wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 1:41 pmIn scoring the goal, Valley was slashed and possibly x checked. On an unrelated note, not sure why Wilson de-facto ran Ginn by shoving Vallerand into him, could’ve easily caused him an injury.

What a team that was, and the matches were awesome. The best of times during those few ISL years :-)mark wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 3:46 pmEvery time this fixture comes around I get an image of the Kurt Kleinendorst Manchester Storm team coming onto our ice in their black kit, against them was the Steelers grand slam team of 2000/2001, some of the highest quality hockey I've ever seen in our domestic league.
