Comfortably 2nd best for the first two periods. Greenfield heroic to give us a chance going into the 3rd.

We totally dominated the final period though, the shift after it was made 3-2 as we didn’t let them use momentum we went straight back to hemming them in their zone.

Good win.

Awful, awful game. 3rd period was ok, but the rest of the game I thought was poor from both sides. No idea why Simms thinks there’s a massive rivalry between the two clubs, cause there hasn’t been for years!!

Think we deserved the win though and I thought our 4th line were excellent all night.

Not sure I’ll bother with the Nottingham stream tomorrow if this is the standard of hockey. Another poor game in front of a massive crowd. Still 50/50 was biggest I’ve seen, and that really is all that matters.

I thought it was a typical boxing day game. Poor, lacking energy and intensity. We were awful for the first 40 minutes of that game and had Greenfield to thank keeping us in it. Apart from Greenfield can barely mention more than 3-4 players who were solid for the whole 60.
I think Mitchell was off the pace tonight (like many others), but I also don't like to see a player diving to try to con the refs into giving a penalty-he was at that game twice.
Good result, very average game and performance in front of our biggest crowd of the season. Maybe we need to change it up to be Devils or storm in future.

Absolutely.
It's stale as stale can be, it needs changing up.

Defo change it up for me! That is a good idea! Why not give Storm a go? Can’t be any worse than games like this one!

It wasn't particularly a good game of hockey to watch, but for me Boxing Day is more an event and not just a game of hockey, so I'd prefer to stick with the tradition of Panthers on Boxing Day.

I thought we were fairly poor through the first two periods and Panthers could consider themselves unluck to not be a couple of goals up. They did a very good job of getting amongst us and not letting us build any rhythm.

In the 3rd it looked like the ice was tilted and we were well in control and should have scored more.

Greenfield would have been my motm for keeping us in it after two periods.

Great to see the old place rammed like it was.

Regards

Panthers are certainly more organised as a team than the early season and although they created good chances early in the game I never thought Greenfield looked uncomfortable. He was always in the right place. He’s a great find and a keeper (pun intended) imo.

There was nothing much until 3rd to get excited about and there’s no edge between the 2 teams like there used to be. Where’s Gagnon? I know we don’t get fights for fightings’ sake any more but he used to be more aggressive.

Still nice to send their fans home quiet though and what an earner for the 50/50.
