If Belfast win their games in hand. We could easily be a 4th place team in a few weeks.

No where near good enough if that becomes true.

For me, we need to make at least two more personnel changes if we want to compete for both the title and any silverware.

Even on the stream, you could hear a few boos at the end of the 2nd period.

@Nathan it’s a lot quieter on the decibel level when watching the stream :D

From being almost deafened by the ear splitting volume of that dreadful PA system to watching a turgid performance on the ice what a thoroughly miserable night's 'entertainment' that was.

I’m afraid that result has been brewing for some time. It’s a ludicrous combination of basic errors. Get all five skaters up over their blue line and pass the puck to the opposition. Remember McAdam saved at least 3 one on ones that I can remember. It could easily have been 8 ! What’s the point of winning a a faceoff in the attacking zone if you lose the faceoff? Our PP is always slow to get going because of our poor performance in the circle. Manchester put us to shame tonight. I agree with others about Gentile and Harper.
I really couldn’t see a hit to the head. Tansey’s elbow went into the chest. I assumed when they went to review they were trying to decide if embellishment should have been called. One of Manchesters goals followed a clear offside not given. So overall I rate the refereeing as below satisfactory.
Our PK is outstanding. Otherwise a lot needs attention.

Game On

Better team won tonight simple as that, we need do go back to basics and start learning to pass properly for one thing,,, team just so average this year with no spark in it , several players even below average as well, southorn being one of them. But we know what we have this year and thing in our favour is other teams are as hit and miss as us

I do not think Manchester are the better team overall but they outplayed us tonight. We just kept on with tactics that were not working. How many of their goals were scored because we allowed them to break out? We were poor in front of goal and poor in defence. Plenty of puck control but could not capitalise on it. Manchester showed us how to win a game of hockey without being the better team

I didn’t think Manchester were the better team, for the most part I thought we were comfortably better. We had a mad 10 minutes where we made mistakes and everything Manchester threw at goal went in.

I thought we heavily out chanced them for the majority of the game, but failed to put away our chances when it mattered.

Problem is this isn't the first time this has happened.

Fox needs to figure this out very quickly, because our title challenge could soon be in tatters.

On the night Cormier and Balmas were both -3......stinkers for them.

Watling was +1 and I thought did very well all things considered. The main positive out of a frustrating night.

40% on faceoffs.....it's been an issue from game 1.

Regards

Cormier was on the ice for about 2 seconds when their 3rd went in.

Unlucky sod. 😄

Doom, do you know what our face off percentages were for , say , the last ten games ? We seem very poor, especially when we get a power play, lose the face off and finish up behind our own goal having lost 20 seconds of the two minutes advantage.

Game On

That game last night was typical of the year so far. When we are good its only for a few minutes then we revert to poor, dull and terrible hockey. We have packed out the arena put money into the 50/50. Supported as we should to see lack lustre play without any commitment (not true again Dowd to the rescue). I cannot make my mind up if Fox has just got it wrong this year or the players need a rocket. The only consistent players this season have been the goalies who continually save us from embarrassing results.
Get a grip Fox and get the players to play with some balls. Lets see some hits that show who we are and make teams think twice before they go to the boards. If the Fife game goes the same way I feel I wont be seeing any silverware this year and may have wasted my play off ticket money already.
