Yes definitely a stand out player in his first season and yes this season he has been targeted alot by opposition which could put him off his natural type of play. Maybe had injuries as well this season, we will never really know. Regarding protection for him,, foxs teams have always been light weight in that department allowing opposition to take advantage in certain situations and cant see that changing any time soonKeithR11 wrote: ↑Sat May 17, 2025 10:32 pmI think Patrick Watling, was the best player in the league in his first year, not so good in his second year and I think the reason for this was he got knocked around to much in a good few games, we had nobody to protect him, so I feel with the right sort of team mates around him he would have been a lot better than the player we saw last year.

Definitely injury - remember the Belfast game before Christmas - every time he shot he immediately held his arm. Played through it like an absolute warrior, but that will definitely have slowed him down this year.greeny wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 12:42 pmYes definitely a stand out player in his first season and yes this season he has been targeted alot by opposition which could put him off his natural type of play. You can't do anything now with the instigator rule. It's daft but that's one of the reasons enforcers just don't really exist anymore. No point if you take an extra 2 mins every time. Whilst that rule remains in place, top teams will not have an enforcer

Yes him and others i reckon playing through injuries this season,,,,,,i know the days of enforcers are long gone [good old days ] to some and not to others. BUT i would just like to see some more feisty/ character type players, the type of players opposition hate playing against and you would rather have on your team than on opposition side. With roster sizes today the players foxy seems to like are the two way type players who can play both ends of the ice and thats understandable. Lets see what upcoming season brings, hopefully an entertaining side as well as winning side. And big , big factor in being succesfull in this long season is staying injury free which hopefully we can do,,,,ginger wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 2:35 pmDefinitely injury - remember the Belfast game before Christmas - every time he shot he immediately held his arm. We definitely need another player or two to help Tansey and Dowd, they can't do it all.

Saucerman normally would, but I'm afraid that the conky he suffered against Cardiff meant not taking risks by getting in to fights.paul johnston wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 6:11 pmWe definitely need another player or two to help Tansey and Dowd, they can't do it all.

Certainly not averse to this, but not sure if again the build up was warranted. I do wish we'd take a page from some other teams and just drop out announcements, or put one out in the morning saying check back at 6pm etc
Just risks over hyping/build up and fans being a bit disappointed (definitely feels a bit that way with the last 2 signing announcements).

I literally swipe past 99% of steelers related media output nowadays until some of interest drops...

I like what Tremblay brings to the table, he's our version of Brandt, but with more output.
He also performed well in the faceoff circle.
I doubt he'll be a high cost signing, so it should also free up money to tempt the likes of Greenfield and Balmas
I agree with the above comments, the build up seemed a bit over the top for a 3rd line player.
