Nottingham have released 6”1” Canadian winger Andrew Johnston.

The 31 scored 2 points in 12 games with the club.

His replacement is 6”2” Canadian/Italian winger Fabrizio Ricci who joins from Dundee where he was captain.

He’s so far scored 11 points in 21 appearances this season.

He’s a former 40 point EIHL scorer in 18/19.

Marotte iced just 4 times producing a .862 SV%.

Daniels iced 21 times for the club scoring 4 points and ending with a -14 rating.

Wonder what makes some teams think, that a player not good enough for their roster is suddenly an upgrade for another?

It's a very bizarre move to release the guy you made captain, and for him then to be snapped up by a rival. Rizzi certainly didn't appear to be pulling up any trees in Dundee.
Andrew Johnston (no relation!) hasn't played anywhere near the form for Panthers that he showed previously. But nearer has Ferrara who's production has been woeful for Panthers.
Are all these a systems/coaching issue rather than the players?

Without taking the P I think it's fair to suggest that Nottingham's on ice problems are not the fault of one or two players and that attention needs to be on the people that hire and coach them instead.

Panthers have some very good players on their roster, yeah maybe a couple of journey men but some great talent, good player dont become rubbish in the space of a few months...

Indeed. Failed to displace Tomáš Duba in 19/20.

Has since played in the AHL 4 times for the Binghamton Devils & Providence Bruins.

As well as 41 ECHL appearances for the Maine Mariners and this season the South Carolina Stringrays where he’s posted .821 in 2 appearances.

Manchester have added 6”1” Canadian defemceman Chase Harrison.

The 26 year old hasn’t iced so far this season.

He’s made 214 ECHL appearances for the Jacksonville IceMen, Norfolk Admirals, South Carolina Stingrays & Rapid City Rush.

He’s also played in the Erste Liga with Romanian side ASC Corona Brasov.

I would have signed him and let Oskar go. Sorry Oskar.

I think he’d have been an ideal backup for us.
