Sports fans are all the same. Earlier on in the season some Devils fans were not happy with their coach. Now he's gone the sky is falling in. It makes me happy that our owner gave Fox a new contract early doors

Nottingham have brought in Manchester netminder James Downie on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 21 year old Blackburn-born netminder stands 6”2” and also holds Australian citizenship.
His dad, Colin Downie, is a former Tayside, Fife, Trafford, Manchester, Lancashire, Blackburn & Dundee netminder.
Downie has iced 11 times for Manchester this season and currently holds a .858 SV%.

I really hope Downie isn't the final signing for Nottingham unless Carr is fit.
As much as I dislike them being our biggest rivals, this would be an insult to their supporters who would still have hopes of making the playoffs.
I guess we'll soon find out.

Nottingham have temporarily added Ben Bowns to their coaching staff to work with Will Kerlin & James Downie.
Nottingham had agreed a playing deal with him until they realised he was ineligible under IIHF regulations.
He will train with the club too to maintain sharpness for the World Championship.

Probably another sign that Doucet will be shown the door end of season for not knowing something so basic. Fans could have told them that if they asked!SteelerBlade wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 2:32 pmNottingham had agreed a playing deal with him until they realised he was ineligible under IIHF regulations.
Rumours are he’s already told NB he’s leaving NOT sacked. Think he’s fed up of getting to the final hurdle on signings and having the rug pulled from under him by NB who deems players too expensive even when allegedly the player we heard about was actually in Nottm and got sent back home. Gui deserves better than the crap he’s had to put up with, whoever takes the HC role is on a hiding to nothing.DiscoRay wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 2:39 pmProbably another sign that Doucet will be shown the door end of season for not knowing something so basic. His International Transfer Card is still registered with the Slovakian ice hockey federation which means, as the international transfer deadline has passed, that he’s ineligible to play outside Slovakia until 22/23.Brian wrote:Why is Bownes ineligible under IIHF rules ?
The EIHL has an emergency netminder option but after the international deadline the only eligible players are those with ITC’s registered with Ice Hockey UK.

Manchester have drafted in experienced Stockport-born 34yo English netminder Phillip Pearson to cover for the temporary departure of James Downie.
He is a boyhood Manchester fan and was in attendance as a boy at the original side’s inaugural fixture, a 6-6 draw with Telford in the 1995 B&H Cup.
He joins from NIHL 2 outfit Bradford Bulldogs.
He’s previously backed up the Dundee on an emergency basis back in 17/18 and even turned out as a forward in 08/09 for the Manchester Metros B side at British University level.
