I hate to be a stick in the mud but if having to watch lacklustre games like tonight is the price we have to pay for being in the early stages of the CHL then IMO it is not worth it.

I’m afraid there are some lacklustre games in every season. There’s no doubt some of the players were tired but injuries can happen any time. We don’t seem to be able to sort the power play which is significant and not down to the CHL games.
I’m also afraid to say our backup netminder is not performing to a good enough level. We all know Greener is exceptional but controlling rebounds and good positional play are more basic and sadly lacking.

Just seen Fox’s post game interview and it seems De Fillipo is either unwell or injured, he was defending him and we’re looking to bring a netminder in before Wednesday.
Why not play Warburton then? I don’t understand that.
Other players playing injured. I don’t fancy our chances in Cardiff.

Fair play to De Fillipo if he's stepped up when he shouldn't be playing.
Fox also mentioned players were out of position due to injuries. Balmas was having to play centre because Watling isn't fit to take faceoffs.
We've been quite lucky with injuries the last 12 months, it looks like it's finally our turn to be hit hard.
If we want to maintain our title push, we're going to need some reinforcements.

99% means they win one in every hundred . Could be bit of an exaggeration ! It is actually 16% , no team can be ruled out in this league as we have found to our cost in the past. Losing to lower placed teams at home has cost us dear before.smbmetal wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 6:47 pmI’ve got plenty correct so far this season so I’m not concerned to be honest.
I can’t comment on this game as I don’t watch games against Dundee.
We won’t win every game and if at our best Dundee will lose against us 99% of the time. My predictions are usually based on us at our near best. Pretty sure that wasn’t the case tonight.
As many expected the CHL has meant fixture congestion and injuries so a few changes need to be made in my opinion. This wasn't a fluke win. Dundee played well and had clinical finishing albeit helped by some rebounds and players out of position.
I think the original replacements for last years team were like for like but the second group of replacements mid season don't have the same pedigree. Maybe not surprising as picking up good players mid season is difficult. Clubs want to keep their stars.
Foxy has a job on now. Lots of head scratching I reckon.
Maybe its a blip. ….Cardiff will tell us more.

The players are good enough to change positions, change tactics and still win but when you have injuries and the tank is empty you just don't have the resources left. Managing the next 3-4 weeks will be the hardest thing Fox has done, balancing the need to rest against the need to train while dropping as few points as possible. A new netminder hopefully for Wednesday.
Is Rok still available? I'd take him as temp cover in a heartbeat.mark wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 9:56 pmThe players are good enough to change positions, change tactics and still win but when you have injuries and the tank is empty you just don't have the resources left.
