Great game, I did not expect Berlin to be that tight but after 11 days off they were great.

I think the Berlin coach said it well, we just weren’t as co-ordinated.

Still, I’m buzzing we got 3 back. In Berlin I think it’s still anyone’s game.

Before Vally was sent off and understandably disgruntled he was cross checked in the back in front of the Berlin goal. He fell flat on the ice. It looked a sure fire penalty to me but Teh stripeys either didn’t so or didn’t see it. That changed the game. Considering the short bench and this incident they did really well against an obviously superior opponent. Well done Steelers.

Very proud to call myself a Sheffield Steelers fan after today’s game.

What a fantastic effort against a fully rested team that’s not played for over 7 days and have had ample time to prepare for this game. Bet if you asked Fox if he could have 7 days rest for the likes of Watling etc he’d have snatched your hand off!

Whilst it looks probably a bridge too far going back to Berlin which will be our 3rd game in 4 days the tie ain’t over yet!

I thought our 4th line was excellent today, led brilliantly by Sam Tremblay who deserved his goal. Berlin were just much quicker to the puck than us and you can see the difference in skill level (and budget!). In the EIHL you have an age on the puck, but not against CHL opposition. I’d much rather watch a game like this, instead of the exhibition games and guaranteed wins against the Panthers.

Out of all the CHL games I’ve seen this season, I thought this was the worst refereed. They missed a call in the 1st period against Valley as well as when he was flattened. However I still have concerns over our PP. At this level we need to be scoring on at least one of those.

It was certainly very busy trying to get into the arena and I heard a few fans saying that it was because some Berlin fans came with no tickets and the arena had to temporarily close, hence the long queues getting in?? They did make decent amount of noise though and it was good to see a decent turnout.

I did also struggle with none of the stewards stopping people from getting up and down during play. I think I’ll stick to the streams in future. Oh, a good solid debut from Golod as well, an upgrade on Miceli I think.

Great effort lads. It’s not over yet.

It was a valiant effort and we showed great composure to level it up but we turned the puck over too often in our D zone to get away with it.

3 players short being replaced by 2 new guys not used to our systems can’t have helped no matter how they all tried.

The stripeys didn’t want to call anything. I think Berlin played a heavy game and got away with more than they should.

To be fair they were the better team but not by a long way.

Do they not get told there’ll be a mom award to receive at the end of the game?

Great effort against a faster slicker team. Spirit once again kept us in the game but we can't match teams like this for energy and stamina with our congested season. A good atmosphere which you can't experience on a stream . The German fans never shut up and the majority ended the evening bare chested !
Bit concerning that many were allowed to stand all evening and some sat across or over the front rail.
The new lads tried but obviously were short of practice on systems and where team mates might be. Foxy was very unhappy with somebody on their 4th goal. I was happy for Tremblay and his goal.
Oh well, I shall be back in our seats for the Coventry game on Saturday.
Strange but many of the seats which were unbookable round me were empty all evening !?!
