Disappointed with Guildford. I thought they would be better losers than that. They dragged the whole game down to their level and it frankly became rather tedious towards the end. I thought the stripeys did OK but there is little they can do when a team behaves like that.. Don’t want to see that sort of behaviour again. It insults the paying fans. OK play hard and tough but gratuitous violence is something I thought we had put behind us. Steelers braved it out and stood their ground and showed they can win that way too. Well done the whole team.
I’m afraid that their only goal was gifted by slightly selfish play by Whistle. He tried to go it alone through a crowd and not surprisingly got dispossessed have dragged our front line forward pointlessly and guess what? They scored.
The disputed second goal of theirs was a real oddity. Somehow 8000 people in the stands could see clearly it was goally interference as Greener was barged over. How four stripeys much nearer failed to see it completely defeats me. The only stranger thing is how their coach wanted to argue about it after multiple clear replays on the screen. There were simply no grounds for debate. Perhaps that started a growing false sense of injustice that resulted in the nonsense at the end.

Not sure why the goal at 40:16 wasn’t given after the Flames took out their own netminder.
Didn’t hear a whistle and the puck clearly went through where the net should have been if it hadn’t knocked off its mooring.
I get why Foxy didn’t challenge as it wouldn’t have been a good look raising a coaches challenge whilst their nm could have been injured.

Mmm I saw that Sean. No whistle from the referee before the puck crossed the line and as none of our players were involved it is technically a goal. Almost certainly would have been given against !
As for their goal, disallowed for goalie interference, isn't goalie interference a minor penalty.?
I suppose it wasn't called because it was part of a review.

I didn’t see the game, but as a fan of the rough stuff that’s exactly as I’d set up against the Steelers. Not many teams can live with our speed and skill so a bit of old school rough stuff might make us think twice for the next game.
Yet it’s Dowd that gets suspended…..don’t see any of the Guildford players with a DOPs ban. Bit naughty from Dowd when reading the reason for his suspension. Don’t mess with Dowd though Guildford.

Most of the Guildford players instigated Dowds reaction.. He was clearly prevoked time after time and in the end he snapped, a perfectly good reaction for me, their guy deserved far more..
