The PA in the Arena is absolutely garbage. Been to a few different events at the Arena and it's nearly always poor.

It's a case of just having to live with it or find a wizard of an engineer I think unfortunately.

they had a wizard of a sound engineer - Justin, he couldn't do anything with it as it stood, and even back then said it need replacing at the cost of some serious spend.. Presumable the arena are now nearer to replacing it no as they were back then...
Most of the time any act, especially large band or recording artist bring along their own sound equipment... :|

Even the big groups who bring their own state of the art PA systems and mixers struggle with the acoustics of the building. A mate of mine who works with speakers told me it’s a design flaw in the building. The roof needs acoustic dampeners, this of course would cost a lot of money.

They struggle to clean the floor properly from one game to the next, I cant see that ever happening... :o
It is what it is I am afraid, we have to live with it... the issue most of the time for hockey games is the volume and the content....

It's the volume that causes me the problems. At times when it was not as loud as recently I have been able to understand what is being said. Compare with, say Nottingham, where everything seemed very muffled and hard to understand.

As this thread is kind of related i wanted to say something positive. The Manchester game was the first time no music was played when a decent chant was going. It happened a couple of times during the first couple of periods where they just let the chant go instead of insisting on playing music.

Also it's nice to see the overuse of Sweet Caroline and Baby shark has been scaled back. Seems to only be once a game lately. I still don't like them but some others clearly do and i can deal with once a game. Much better than the 5 or 6 renditions of them at some games last season.

To be fair, last season was so bad that constant repetition of Baby Shark and Sweet Caroline wasn't nearly the most upsetting experience in the Arena.

I found the noise level on 29th lower than normal and very acceptable. I could enjoy the game in an atmosphere conducive to being able to chat to fellow fans as well as the family group.
However on 1st it was at a much higher level. Yes, I was sat in the same seat so my location in the arena was not a factor.

When will ‘the White House’ (not wanting to get personal in my accusations!) learn that pumping up the noise does not enhance the atmosphere or shouting at the fans to support the team improve the crowd response but THE ON ICE PERFORMANCE GETS THE CROWD GOING. Take away games as an example when fans can readily create their own atmosphere without the deafening noise.
Past games have shown that a very loud PA system bellowing out invariably happens when the team are under par. The last season under PT was deafening and the team was under par was a prime example.

Yes they had an off night last night but there was no need to make the experience of the game worse by trying to deafen us!

100% agree.

As annoying as Mr Simms can be at times, Mr Dows is excruciatingly bad and cringeworthy.

His constant growling and repeating of the same old tiresome catchphrases are becoming unbearable.

“Noise for the Panthers. Noise for your Steelers!”
“Are you on dance cam?”
“Noise for the Panthers?”
“Noise for Steelers!!!!!!!!”

And so on...
