Agree with all of that DoomDoom wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 1:48 pmI've got Belfast slightly ahead of us with 217.
If we do complete our lineup as suggested, my view is that Belfast have slightly more in attack, we look better in defence and Belfast edge the netminding.
It looks very close which is how you'd want it. For me Belfast aren't quite as strong as they were and we look better than last season (all assuming Lassio, Allen and Juusola).
There is of course also Nottingham and Cardiff to consider, with both clubs looking like they're upping their game.

Assuming the last signings are as expected, I think it looks pretty close on paper between Belfast, ourselves, Cardiff and Nottingham. Guildford I feel will still be a good team but I don't think quite as good as last year (losing Tedesco and Marklund will hurt). Always well coached though, so anything could happen. Also worth mentioning Clan - look like they'll be much improved this year.
On paper looks like it's going to be tight - Belfast still have the edge, but i have a feeling Besko will need to be fantastic all season, as I don't think their defence is as good as last year

Yep a real shame, strange how his transfer went to unknown then Bolzano later on in the day, makes me think did we lose out on his signature last minute. Oh well let’s hope that’s not the case and we got the player we wanted.
Was there much basis to the Lessio rumour other than he hadn't signed anywhere, he matched the profile of The Star article and he was on the same team as Fox?House_of_Steel wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 11:10 pmYep a real shame, strange how his transfer went to unknown then Bolzano later on in the day, makes me think did we lose out on his signature last minute. It would be very annoying if we'd agreed a deal for him and lined up a Uni place and then he signed elsewhere.
Watling managed to come under the radar, so hopefully there is a new guy signed and he's come under the radar.

Just based off the clue from the star, I've looked at last year's KHL players ( fascinating career line makes me think KHL but obviously could be wrong). Apart from Calof who I mentioned earlier, the other 2 that could be possibles would be Ethan Werek and Josh Ho-Sang.
None showing as signed anywhere, all fit the clue.
Feel like a lot of other leagues Denmark/Alps etc, we would be looking at high point scorers and vast majority of those now seem to have contracts for next season.
Could be completely off base, and probably am. But feel it will be someone who's stats look low, but will have been playing at a much higher level

I believe the player alluded to was Lessio and we’ve lost out. He fit the description perfectly and the signing deadline that was given by the club coincidentally coincided with his transfer to unknown initially. I’d wager they will be some sort of statement released by Bob or the club on the matter.ginger wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 10:26 amJust based off the clue from the star, I've looked at last year's KHL players ( fascinating career line makes me think KHL but obviously could be wrong). We will probably end up with someone like this guy

A lot of fans would say well he’s a great signing but a bit of research would tell you he’s a specialist defensive forward that excels on the penalty kill not the 25 goal winger we need.

If we were looking at Lessio then it’s pleasing we’re looking at that calibre of player. However we need to be realistic with who is likely to want to play in the EIHL. It would be a no brainier for Lessio to play at a higher level in the ICEHL and for more ££.
