I'm underwhelmed with the replacements so far.
But we'll have to see what they perform like as a team.
Hopefully they are saving the best until last..............HOPEFULLY.

Seems we'll get 3 signing announcements next week. Sourced from the Steelers twitter.

Kick in the teeth for us but both rumours accounts on Twitter say he’s signed for Panthers Hope we’ve landing some very good remaining players because the other 3 comparison teams mean business.

Somebody at Steelers HQ give Sylvestre a ring he’s doing nowt!

Nottingham are building a good side. Plenty of goals and Caruso looks a quality player. Although I don’t rate Gagnon as an arena EIHL defenceman & wouldn’t be interested in him, he does provide some toughness, although will likely be easy to goad as usual.

Cardiff look to have improved, Martin & Reid will both be top scorers and Jardine is a good re-sign. Netminding may be an issue, although Bowns has never had the luxury of a capable backup on these shores before.

Belfast is an interesting one, good re-signings with Goodwin, Cooper, Conway etc. The new forwards look to have average ECHL CV’s not to dissimilar to Mason Mitchell so will be interesting to see how they adapt. Netminder has okay ECHL stats and a couple of decent AHL performances.

We look pretty small at the back, Nevalainen looks to be a good offensive option. Petgrave has been chased by other arena sides so that gives me confidence. Will be easier to rate our likely fortunes after the netminders.

But hockey is played on ice not paper, so can never tell what’s going to happen until the competitive stuff gets underway.

Brust extension rumour is now doing the rounds on the twitter rumour accounts..

He's got to come in and prove us all wrong if it is true.. His experience and game tape speaks for itself, but we never saw that Barry. He's got to come in, in much better shape and with a higher level of fitness. Also, show a bit of passion. He's a passionate bloke on the ice, but far too often he looked like he wasn't arsed about being here!

It’s a worry, I didn’t see an improvement in him over the season to think he is getting better and back to the form I expected.
As a backup/NM coach may be a good move but we still need a Starter.

If Brust is back even as potential back up to me it shows not just a lack of ideas but sadly also a lack of real intent to really be up there challenging at the top again.

Definitely agree. Think we'd all love to see the Barry we see on tape from the KHL days. But that ship seems to have sailed. We've got to go after these NM's.. we've not had a standout nettie in years! :peek:

If we have kept Brust we have kept the wrong goaltender in my opinion. Stoyanovic is younger, had the better stats last year and seemed as if he was bothered on and off the ice.
Ok if Barry is backup, but I think with his record he will be expecting at least equal time with whoever else has signed ( Parks ? or Ostlund ? )
Barry for me, did not show enough agility in recovering positions once out of place , may be his fitness or more likely his age and Father Time catching him up.
Disappointed but not surprised as his name has been linked with us for a long time now as a rumour and keeps re-occurring.
A huge gamble I think if he is more than backup.
