I was out for a Christmas meal yesterday, so didn't get to see the game, but was following the score on the train home.

Looking at the stats it looks like one of those games where everything went for us.

Delighted to see Whis get his hatrick, he wanted to move up the lines, now he's giving Fox plenty of food for thought.

I was also pleased to see Huttula finish top of the +/- last night, because to date I don't think we've seen the best of him.

I feel a bit for Huhtamaa, because he came in with little game time under his belt and it showed. It makes a huge difference to us having Greenfield back. To put it in to context, if we give up 30 shots with Greenfield in goal we concede 2 on average (currently 93%). If we give up 30 shots with Huhtamaa in goal, we concede 5 (currently 83%).

That's the difference between winning and losing those games against Nottingham, Dundee and Fife.

When Vainio is back I wonder what Fox will do, because we'll have 7 import d. If a forward is missing who of the 7 is most likely to be pushed up as a forward?

Probably Cormier or possibly Tansey. Given how well the brits are playing though, it might be a case of dress 2 import goalies instead and allow Whis to remain in top 9 with Dowd
Great minds think alike, because they are the two players I had in mind.

Cormier for his skating and Tansey for his physical presence and shot.

Tansey scored 6 in 26 games in the Czech league, which is no mean feat. I think he'd do well as a power forward, although Fox might prefer to have his physical presence at the back end.

It will be an interesting conundrum when all 7 are fit.

Tansey also has some hands considering he's a big Dman. I actually think he's more likely than Cormier because of Corms transition game from D being so good.

Another point I forgot to make earlier is Leavens. Looked very good for the last 3 games and was an absolute menace last night. I wonder if he's been one of the many playing through injury, which would explain his apparent drop off after CHL
