Putting all their eggs in one basket with that high scoring top line again or busting the budget? Maybe they won't need to get through 40 imports this year too (they did also have a lot of Injuries). Will be interesting to see how their full squad will look after these marquee signings. Great player though he is Conway does come across as a bit of an arse off and on ice.wakefieldsteelersfan wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 3:28 pmConway back at Belfast.
They're really determined not to have a repeat of last season lol. They're setting the bar high early already.
Confirmed signings: ONLY OTHER TEAMS

To think it was Belfast who were making noises about our spending.wakefieldsteelersfan wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 3:28 pmConway back at Belfast.

In Conway they almost certainly have the highest paid player in the league and pick n mix will also be a top end earner.
I thought Conway might have moved on to a better league, but I get the impression he's got a big ego so maybe he prefers to be the big fish in a small pond.
No doubt he's top quality at our level, it will be interesting to see if he is as dominant this time around.
Let's hope we have a few top end players lined up who can match him.

Gut feel says Conway's ego has meant the better leagues have passed him over. Great player but absolute plank of a human.
According to one Giants fan we threw the kitchen sink at him to get him and he still chose little old Belfast
My guess is they'll try to run back what they had - 5 players do the scoring, everyone else just don't concede

I hope we did, because it will have pushed his price up.ginger wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 5:00 pmGut feel says Conway's ego has meant the better leagues have passed him over. Great player but absolute plank of a human.

The more Belfast spend on Conway, the less they have to spend on the rest of their roster.

It'll be goaltending that makes or breaks their season IMO.
Be interesting to see who they replace Besko with. They've tried twice to replace him with Shane Owen and Peyton Jones, neither of which was particularly successful.
I'm not so sure they win the last grand slam if they didn't bring him back mid-season.

If Whistle isn't their starter after this year I'll be shocked. Had a great year.wakefieldsteelersfan wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 6:08 pmIt'll be goaltending that makes or breaks their season IMO.
