I understand from the new quidelines issued on Monday, that sporting venues cannot have spectators until a vaccine had been approved and the population had started to be inoculated. If that is the case then it’s going to be the end of the year at the earliest before it gets back to normal.

It's going to be really tough for us to see any UK professional ice hockey any time soon.

I think IF the EIHL does come back, it will be with less teams. Clubs aren't exactly financially rich, I wonder how long they can survive without revenue.

There won’t be a Vaccine anytime soon.

We have to hope and prayer that the virus continues to burn out and decline as rapidly as it currently is. If not, I cant see there being an EIHL again sadly

The only way I can see the EIHL back is for social distancing to be removed. How many people would feel safe if so? I don’t think any UK hockey club can survive on anything less.

I can’t see that happening any time soon. Guess we have to keep an eye on what other sports do.

The good news is a lot can happen in 5 months.

Look at the state of the U.K. and the world only a month ago. The improvements in such a short space of time have been dramatic.

Many European countries opened early April and have no signs of a 2nd wave. I actually think this virus has been circulating since October/November last year, and we are now going through the "2nd wave".

As this is part of the "Sars family" let's hope it goes the same way as Sars, and burns itself out to basically nothing major within 8 months.

They are already looking into reducing the social distancing from 2 Metres.

I know this virus is devastating, and the devastation has been terrible, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. (RIP to all those been taken by Covid and thoughts with family, friends and love ones)

Lowest figures today since lockdown began. This is after thousands of “twitter experts” and main stream media (which have been nothing short of shocking through this) were predicting a “2nd wave” after bank holidays, Easter and VE Day.

70 UK NHS organisations have recorded 0 covid-19 deaths over the weekend.

Rugby super league are confident they will see crowds back in their stadiums by October (the date the EIHL have pencilled in)

Italy’s top scientists have found very strong evidence the virus is burning itself out at a high pace. Let’s hope this is true. There is evidence of this over here, steady decline in cases but the decline hospital admissions suggest the virus has weakened. Let’s hope so

We’ve all had such a horrible time, let’s keep the faith the virus continues to burn out at rapid pace and we can get back to the arena in October.
