From trusted sources and highly trusted personal information, Mark and I now pretty much certain what Cliff Pu has been accused of and arrested for...
Its absolutely deplorable by the way and the club will have 100% backing from all, for their reaction and subsequent action...

If you know then please keep it to yourself and council others to do the same, this is not a 'I know something you dont know' moment has its been pretty much busted out wide online already. Just keep in mind that the forum is not the place to announce it..

Re the shirt situation: I really cant see the Steelers.org having any choice but to refund shirt sales of Pu merchandise and even offer some form of incentive to exchange or discount other Merchandise Pu related gear, especially recent Christmas purchases, Nobody is going to want to see his name on anyone's back in the arena after the truth is widely known... :zip:
For me, the club (once ready) need to officially expand their statement on Pu's release before someone like Fairytale writes a random article in the local rag. Better coming from the club than the local media IMO.
Almost certainly can't do that legally, given what Jay has posted. If, as I believe it probably is, a serious criminal matter, then they probably legally cannot say anything until the matter is concluded. By which time I suspect the story will be in public domain anyway

I fully agree with this.... In recent articles, all Fairytale has ever done is stick the knife in and twisted, like he has some personal vendetta with the current owners... He comes over as bitter and twisted and sees any story with an even the slimmest negative narrative, as his chance to stick it to the club and/or the fan base...

Westerdale would be doing himself , the Star and everybody else a huge favour if he stayed well away from this. After what happened with Petgrave many have not forgiven him.

Apparently there is already a Star article, hidden behind it's pay wall, stating he has been in court today and pled guilty...

A Sheffield Steelers player is set to be sentenced, after admitting assaulting the same woman on two separate occasions.

Clifford Pu, aged 27, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating during a Sheffield Magistrates’ Court hearing held yesterday (Monday, December 15, 2025).

Court documents show the two assaults were carried out in Sheffield 25 days apart, with the first taking place on November 17, 2025, and the second on December 11, 2025.

The same female complainant is named in both counts.

A spokesperson for Steelers confirmed Pu was “no longer associated with the club with immediate effect” in a post shared on X on December 13, 2025, two days after the second assault.

The post continued: “This decision has been taken in line with its club conduct policies.”

Following Pu’s guilty pleas, the case was adjourned until February 2026 for sentence.

Pu, of no fixed abode, was released on conditional bail until then.

Sheffield Steelers have been contacted for comment, following Pu’s guilty pleas.

Pu, a winger from Canada, signed a one-year contract with Steelers in July 2025.

The Steelers’ announcement, confirming Pu had been signed in July, stated his appointment to the club marked his “first time in the UK.”

So Marc LeFebvre was either blathering about something inconsequential or being totally unprofessional by referring to this. Only he knows which but he needs to give his head a wobble.

It seems Cliff Pu has a big problem.

So with the article being in the Sheffield Star, I guess there’s no need for the club to comment any further officially?

As for Pu, I hope the courts throw the book at him.

Hope he never gets a contract in hockey again.

The club has acted promptly and correctly, the immediate sacking said more than any statement could. The focus now shifts to Fife where two executives have resigned ahead of the expected announcement tomorrow that they have signed ex NHL'r Lucic.
