This was not the game to play nice with ice time, when they are good enough they will be given it, meanwhile there's easier opponents than Belfast.Steelersfan6 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 9:21 pmNo ice time for Neilson or Kelly. One shift for Shudra. Get the Brits on , no point having them if you dont play them. Can't see them hanging around when getting no ice time.

Greenfield deserved his Mom for sure, but Tansey put hell of a shift in all night he was on it.. best game I've seen him play all season, by a country mile... Tansy was my Mom

A well deserved win after a tough 1st period.
As I’ve already mentioned, Belfast aren’t really the side they have been, but we needed to make sure of the win. Sure they’ll take the odd win against us this season, but happy with our performance today.
Greenfield once again showing why he’s the best goalie in the league.
Tansey was also much better tonight I thought.
Greenfield should get a rest tomorrow against a very poor Fife side.

Give them the challenge! They are all more than capable. There are imports making mistakes do they get benched!? These guys will not development or grow in confidence if not given any ice time against any team regardless of where these teams are in the league.mark wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 9:33 pmThis was not the game to play nice with ice time, when they are good enough they will be given it, meanwhile there's easier opponents than Belfast.Steelersfan6 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 9:21 pmNo ice time for Neilson or Kelly. They will get plenty of ice time but in the big games you play your best players, this is not a development league.Steelersfan6 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 9:47 pmGive them the challenge! I don’t think Neilson and Kelly are any where near the quality required for a regular shift against Belfast. Our worst import is still quite ahead of both Neilson and Kelly in terms of quality I’m afraid.Steelersfan6 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 9:47 pmGive them the challenge! They are all more than capable. They should get a few shifts tomorrow though against Fife I’m sure.

The worst import is getting ice time they aren't so how do they improve and feel part of a team. I hope they eventually get to show what they can do and prove they are of value to the team.smbmetal wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 9:59 pmI don’t think Neilson and Kelly are any where near the quality required for a regular shift against Belfast. Job done.
No doubt we benefitted from Belfast fatigue, but let's not focus on that. This was a very professional performance where we kept Belfast to the outside and took advantage of our opportunities.
PK still at 100% and outstanding again tonight.
A player who goes under the radar but offers so much is Tremblay. I thought he was excellent again, although my motm was between Tait and Cormier.

That’s because the worst import is still better than Neilson & Kelly.Steelersfan6 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 10:13 pmThe worst import is getting ice time they aren't so how do they improve and feel part of a team. Fox will play who he thinks are the best players. From what I’ve seen of both Kelly & Neilson, they’re not getting many shifts against the top sides, unless we have a large lead.
Tomorrow’s game however, is an opportunity for them to show Fox what they’re made of.
The old saying “if you’re good enough, you’ll play” rings true for me.

A good result after having to withstand some very good play in the first, although I thought they had the bounces and the decisions.
Once we got the lead I thought their level dropped probably tiredness, but they do seem vulnerable this season when they go behind.
