Fox pleased after a double signing leaves just one place remaining..

The coaching staff sent Steelers management the message over the weekend that two more players had put pen to paper on deals to head to Sheffield shortly for the 25-26 Elite League Season.
It has been a busy summer with players coming and some leaving, I’m pleased with the business we have done and I was delighted to get two more signature over the weekend. I think names will start to be confirmed once all the paperwork has been concluded and I trust that the fans will be as excited as I and the rest of the coaching staff are..

Personally think this is a cracking signing for the Steelers, I'll even go on to say that he'll be our top points producer thus year, I'm expecting big things of him.

Said it on the other thread, 0.4 ppg in the K and he's under 28 - utterly ridiculous stats for an EIHL signing. It's all on paper of course but so far this is the best signing that's new to the league by any team.

50% face off win rate in the K with over 1000 taken. Should be perfect top 6 centre

A big call Bont.

I'm happy enough with this signing and suspect he'll be our 1st line centre.

I can't see him scoring at the same rate as the likes of Conway and would expect Fossier to get more points, but I would imagine he should be around a point/game.

I'd be happy with a point/game from him, because Fox usually looks for scoring across the team, rather than 1 or 2 amazing lines.

Having played in the KHL with respectable +/- stats relative to his team mates, I would assume he's also responsible defensively.

My mate has pointed out he had a 50% face off record in the KHL, where he would have been up against ex NHL players. I would expect that to translate to better than 50% in our league.

If he is our 1st line centre, who are his wingers?

Good to see us using the Uni course again.

Fox says top 6, so I'd say we now look something like
Juusola - Pu- Balmas
Seitz - Jasper - Tait
? - Dowd - Gentile
Shudra - Tremblay - Neilson

Thats a pretty deep forward group imo - 2 PPG potential players on 3rd line, with one more signing to come.

I could see Gentile being top 6, although I'm hoping our final signing is top 6, otherwise I'm only looking at a very slight improvement in our forwards and that's down to Tremblay being much better than Ulrick.

I'm less enthused about Jasper than I was Pu and he's also quite a bit older.

His numbers last season in Austria are OK, but his +/- was the worst on the team.

Decent numbers in Czechia and a good +/-.

In DEL he put up good numbers and his +/- was all over. First season second best on team, second season second worst on team.

Difficult to make a positive or negative judgement. I'd take the Czechia or first season DEL Jasper. 😃

He sounds like another quick skater.....we'll have some serious wheels next season.
