I like the look of the D corps, & hope they live up to expectations.
There's no reason that Greener can't pick up where ge left off and hopefully now he'll not be iced for 99% of the time.
As for the forwards, I think they're going to have to exceed expectations if we're going to be in with a chance.
Watling aside Ive got a feeling most of the new ones are more Jordan Owen, Justin Buzzeo & Martin St Pierre than Forney, Fretter or Roy..
I hope to be proved wrong though.
Lots of folk have Dowd penciled in on the 4th line, if so that's an appalling waste of talent, points & a 200ft player. I know he's not the "kid" anymore, in fact he's the oldest on the team, but I think he'll still bring more than some of the new signings appear to offer.

Was hoping for one more forward to be signed and announced before the season after Fox’s comments last week. Would produce healthy competition between the squad if there’s an import scratched each week. Plus there’s always someone not upto scratch or injuries too. Think we would have been better signing someone earlier rather then when the seasons started. But doesn’t look like will be happening.

I think this is the least enthusiastic I have been at the start of the season for a long time.
I think other major teams (Belfast, Cardiff) have the jump on us.
We look behind on goal scoring, pretty much like the end of last season.
Even Nottingham look like they may rise above their usual mediocrity this year.
But as always we will turn up and see what happens.

I had little enthusiasm in June, but the siging of the defence has really lifted my enthusiasm.
On paper I think it could be the best defence we've had for a number of years.
I thought last year our defence was decent, but this year I think the addition of Saucerman lifts it up further (I see him as an upgrade on Schulze, whilst the other two are break even).
The forwards don't excite me as much and I think we could find ourselves a little behind Cardiff and Nottingham and quite a way behind Belfast.
A lot is going to depend on the quality of Vallerand, Juusola, Kielly and Nicholls. If we can get 3 out of the 4 firing, I think we'll be OK.
Regarding Dowd, I could see him on 4th line pre season, not because he's a 4th line player, but to try and get the new imports up and running.
The general thinking is we have a top 6 and a bottom 6.
The 3 new imports coming in on the bottom 6 (Simpson, Juusola and Kielly) are all coming off of poor seasons in terms of points production. Would Juusola for example have a better chance of firing on an all import line or on the 4th line with Shudra and Whistle?
In time I could see Dowd in the top 6, but in pre season I'd follow the logic of him as part of an all British line.
