Hopefully fife get a competative team on the ice this season, not only good for league but also for pulling the crowds in for them and giving the club some stability going forward,,,,

Fife sign 6'5" D man Jeremy Masella who played in the Hungarian league last season.
He will replace Alex Stensson who won't be coming because of visa issues

Matt Marcinew looks a very good signing for Nottingham. I've got him down for 25 goals which is not to be sniffed at and more than I have for any of our guys new to the league.

Panthers have the best goalie statistically from last season.

Have retained the core of the tightest defence in the league and added what looks like an outstanding player in David Noel, although I'm less convinced by Hilderman.

Up front they've managed to retain the best set up player from the league last season in Fossier and add Chase Pearson. Looking at Pearson's numbers, I'm not sure why he didn't move to a much better league than the EIHL. If he stays fit, he should rip it up in our league (I've got him down for 35 goals).

I hate to say it, but I'm edging towards Nottingham in my pre season predictions. The only real weakness I see is in their Brits, which look to be the worst on paper of the big 4 (Belfast miles ahead on that front).

It will be interesting to see if they start next season like they finished the last.

Nottingham definitely look good, but still too close to call between top 3.

I hadn't realised Henbrandt only essentially repeated his previous year stats (about 0.8 PPG) - I thought he was running at a ppg. Lemos CV wouldn't suggest a ppg (probably more in the 0.7 region). So whilst their top end looks maybe a bit ahead, I think we have slightly better scoring depth.

Also worth saying I don't think Grande hits 95% again. He'll be good, but I'd expect him to be in the 92-93% range.

Belfast sign Davey Phillips on loan from Hull. Post on THF suggests Roach and Sam Jones out til Christmas so wouldn't be shocked to see them in the market for another import D

I guess they're both injured then?

Wonder if they picked up those injuries in their first CHL game?

The post on THF was prior to the CHL game and neither was on the team sheet last night.

I think the post mentioned shoulder injury.

Josh Roach, Sam Jones and Reid Irwin all defence men out injured and missed the first 2 CHL games which I'm sure contributed to the results, also Brandon Whistle is out and hasn't featured at all in either of pre season or CHL along with Jordan Kawaguchi who missed pre season and played limited minutes in the first CHL before missing the 2nd night. A bit of an injury crisis at the minute with the young 2 way guys having to take on additional ice time and having to recruit a semi retired Davy Phillips at short notice.

Two more CHL games next weekend both away and then we are into challenge cup so hopefully 1 or 2 of the injuries clear up or as mentioned we may have to bring in cover for the short term.
