Of the 5 signed they represent 4 nations. We already know two of those are Canadian & Czech.

Kevin Poulin rumoured again this morning via one of the twitter rumour pages. Also a screen shot of his Twitter handle showed he was following Sheffield steelers but looks to have now been deactivated…

One can hope…. 🤞🏻

Hope it is just a fairytale from Mr Fairytale at the local rag.

From memory, I don’t think 1 person voted for him to return on the recent poll? Thank him for his services and find someone else I think. I was very underwhelmed with what should have been one the league’s marquee signings last season.

We have already got back for us 3 of a arguably poor defence from last season, at times it was awful to watch and I believe bringing back 4 of them at least is a very risky strategy.. :Puzzle:

Let’s hope it’s just a rumour, because if it isn’t I would have quite a few concerns already regarding our recruitment if Ellerby re-signs.

If we retain both Ellerby and Connolly, I am worried about the season ahead unless we really pull it out of the hat with all the new imports.

I’d have Connolly back if he’s fully recovered…

I think Connolly is brilliant and really like his 'rink rat' play which would be even better if we had a tough guy to back him up. For me though, at 37 when the season starts, it's a no with a heavy heart.

Just read this on Elite Prospects and it sums it up nicely for me, which is why I think we ought to try to do better.

Ellerby is a defenseman with great size, who does his best work in his own zone. Skates and moves very well, despite a large body. Somewhat lacking in hockey sense, and won't contribute much offensively. Could stand to play a more physical game, given his excellent frame, but still delivers a big hit once in a while.
