I dont feel we have had the full story on Ostlund... I feel they are sitting on part of the story and find it hard to fathom why we dont get injury updates or the very least a regular progress report on his likely comeback... the time and games he as missed as a Steeler player is not as insignificant as the Steelers Management seem to spin it!! :wonder:
A certain other EIHL teams coaching staff were a tad puzzled as to why we signed him in the first place!

According to my sources anyway.

I missed the pre-season games so have never seen him. It’s weeks since we were told he had a freak injury to his finger, surely that must have healed by now or did he nearly rip it off??

How lucky is it that Greenfield turned out as good as he is? I don’t think we’ll see Ostlund ice again unless Greenfield gets injured then we’ll see.

I’m not sure I’d feel confident in that scenario with a nettie who’s not played properly competitively for 2 seasons. I think I’d trust Warburton more.

I thought Fox made a number of risky signings this season, Ostlund being one of them due to his poor injury record.

Unfortunately this is one of the gambles which hasn't paid off, but we've got out of jail thanks to Greenfield.

It probably wouldn't be a good look for the club to cut Ostlund whilst he's injured, but if Greenfield gets injured we're in trouble.

Regards

He was originally, but that was quickly downgraded to a standard 1yr deal after pre-season.

Question is. When are we likely to see him play a competitive game?

It’s hard to see when he’ll get back, even then he’ll be as far off the pace, if not further, than Brust was when he joined.

Greenfield is high quality but he is human, it’s a big load on one man.

Problem we've got - can we afford to bring in another tender to help out Greenfield whilst Ostland is coming back from injury as we are still paying the bloke.

Seeing as we've got 2 GB backups I just can't see us dipping into the market.

Dear The Ice Hockey Gods.....

Please keep Greenfield fit for the rest of the season!
