2 down now, decent scrap though. I'd say Erkamps won that one with more shots thrown, Jenion just wanted to hug
Yep - Jenion definitely ate a lot more from the TV replays, Erkamps giving up a lot of reach but looks like he knew what he was doing bless him.

D seems all over the place atm, so many times out of position. Storm understandably on a high and playing accordingly. Hopefully the period break gives us chance to reset.

(And someone lets the officials know there are power breaks… lol)

I’m not sure if it’s just me also, but I’m really struggling to discern what our lines actually are? Whistle seems to be out there every other shift (covering Dowd maybe?).

Perhaps the only good news is that Balmas seems to be mostly on the right wing. Not that he has seen much of the puck.

Not quite the end of the 2nd, but they've gone off early due to rubbish ice.

A much better period and one I hope is more reflective of the team we've signed.

Trailing 4 - 3, but probably should be leading after that period. Much better at faceoffs and at times it looked like we were on a powerplay.

Hopefully more of the same in the 3rd

Regards

I’m struggling to see what Rockwood brings. He doesn’t seem very good at faceoffs and otherwise rather invisible. Perhaps he needs time to settle in.

Thank goodness much better 2nd, annoying they got one back but perhaps fortunate timing with the period break.

Gettinger getting a bit more involved in the play this period, nice to see Diff carrying it in a few times. Liking Stucker more and more!

5-5 end of regulation and Steelers win on pen shots - Balmas scoring the only one.

Think we did well there to turn that around as 1st Period looked like potentially a blow out.. 2nd period virtually all us with long spells of domination. 3rd was pretty even, and the 5min PP was definitely a big help for us.

Think it was always going to be tough for us as it was such a big occasion for the home side.

Bit of a strange game as we looked so all over the place in the 1st, then like we were way superior for long stretches of the second.

Enjoyable watch tho - with some bite.

Not seen this weekends games as we're in Menorca currently but sounds like its been entertaining.
The AO looks enormous, not been there for some years now, will be good to get back at some point this season.

Well done to the team for recovering. However the first period was a matter for real concern. We just weren’t in the game for 20. Our defence was all over the place. Why?
We hardly did any attacking of note. At the moment I’m not convinced this team would beat last year’s team. Positives for me were Brine who gave a confident display and deserved his chance. I like Teissala. Collins shows promise and wins some faceoffs. Archambault is obviously able but perhaps along with a few others needs to get stuck in. I remain unconvinced by our new defence so far.
The real praise goes to all who got the AO arena into service and pretty full. A few things went wrong but overall they put on a great show. It was hard to hear the commentary. The ice wasm’tt up to scratch But overall it augurs well. Perhaps that red white roses will become something to rival the faded Panthers games.
