Make it a 12:00pm face off on a Saturday or a Sunday, then most people who wanted to watch the stream could do so before heading out to see their own games?

Unfortunately doesn't work either, as you have no idea what games to schedule/cancel in the summer's fixture meeting, with no idea which two teams will be in the Final.Keith Sheppard wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 8:52 amMake it a 12:00pm face off on a Saturday or a Sunday, then most people who wanted to watch the stream could do so before heading out to see their own games?

I get that, I thought about scheduling problems a couple of hours after I posted. It really does have to be a midweek game doesn’t it.DiscoRay wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 8:26 pmUnfortunately doesn't work either, as you have no idea what games to schedule/cancel in the summer's fixture meeting, with no idea which two teams will be in the Final.Keith Sheppard wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 8:52 amMake it a 12:00pm face off on a Saturday or a Sunday, then most people who wanted to watch the stream could do so before heading out to see their own games?

Could they introduce the concept of a bye week or 2 (separate) weeks scheduled into a regular season when a specific teams do then do not have a game, allowing them a week off... This could then serve has the cup final week and maybe also a free week to reschedule into for other rearranged fixtures to be played..?
Usually, this happens in other leagues to extend the season length without increasing total games. but still leave important space within the crowded fixture list?

Out of interest, what would happen if it was a Coventry v Guildford final with Coventry being the top seed?
Would Coventry suddenly become a suitable venue or would they move it to Sheffield or Nottingham?
Regards

It's a fine idea, though I don't think the possibility of it works anymore with the extended Cup format. Plus the club's recent unwillingness this season to shift games even for GB duties that saw most teams 3/4 guys short, but being expected to play EIHL fixtures anyway.Jayboy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 11:08 pmCould they introduce the concept of a bye week or 2 (separate) weeks scheduled into a regular season when a specific teams do then do not have a game, allowing them a week off... If they can't/won't stick to the format, then the only realistic change I see happening is going back to making the final 2 legs.
£18 for the stream. Guess that will be our streaming price next season then? And probably what the semi final and final playoff weekend games will cost, although I might not need to bother as I can easily see us not making the weekend. Certainly don’t think we’ll make the final.

Still can’t believe Coventry agreed to giving Nottingham a final in their own building.

Only 50p more expensive than turning up on the day to park at a Steelers game next season. The stream seems like a bargain TBH.
