PT as coach who picked him, seriously? No Colt King in any line up!! How can that happen, people forget what an outstanding all round hockey player he actually was, and surely Tom Sestito qualified to be picked too..

Who do you think picked PT as coach? - His best mate of course.

Blaiser every time for me.

To be fair King didn't make the cut for me either. I went for Desbiens as my forward toughness for the extra leadership and discipline. Still not seen a tough guy excerise such self control as Guillaume did.

I also had Hagos as 4th line centre, as Simms said we haven't had many, if any, better at that role.

Legue was the 1st name on my teamsheet. I was certain he'd have his number in the rafters when he retired. Outstanding player.

My side was:

Bronsard
Whistle

O'Connor
Munn
Sarich
Eddy
Bolibuck
Matheson

Legue
Talbot
Roy
Fretter
Hagos
Dowd
Tait
J. Phillips
Hewitt
Dutiaume
Desbiens
Simon

Coach: Finnerty (For entertainment value mainly )

Think that gives you a real good mix of all the things you need in a championship team.

And how do Hewitt, Tait Khon and Armstrong get in the side ahead of some they theft out? Good players but a bet we can all name better...

And if we have to have a brit backup how can we not pick whistle who was deemed good enough as a number one and second only to Bowns at GB level who gets a slot when as far as I recall never played as a Steeler...

I was looking at the Steelerstats site yesterday, and that shows Bowns as having played 2 games for us. I can't remember him icing for us though.
Season 2007/08 the Elite league have Ben Bowns appeared twice for Steelers I don't know when,,that's why I've put I'm on the Elite League page " Unknown games". I can assume it's because he dressed as backup.

Armstrong is decent player when he is on it and a good lower order addition in a team, but he is nowhere near an EIHL all-star, putting in the team is maybe a luxury based on opinions and choice, that's fair enough, he wouldn't make mine or many others best EIHL teams, he wouldn't make next seasons team if I was Fox.. His is a place I would be looking to upgrade on..

I can see where Simmsey is coming from with Kohn. When Adams took over and Kohn became fully fit, he was arguably the best defenceman in the league in that second half of the season.

Having said that, my import 4 would be:

Darling
Munn
Sarich
Boli

With O'Connor and Phillips.

The choice of Thompson though is ludicrous, it's more about friendship than achievement. He won a league title, but that was off the back of players recruited by Gerad Adams, who didn't even get a mention. Recruitment is such a big part of the coaches job and to be quite blunt, Thompson was useless at it.

Blaiser on the other hand had to work with one of our worst owners and still managed to recruit championship winning teams. For me he's head and shoulders ahead of the others. I would like to have seen more of Simon and Adams, because they may have pushed him close.

Surprised by the lack of love for Peron, I think only one person picked him. I'd take Peron over Desbiens.
