I’d like to mention the refs this weekend they normally get some stick from us fans but credit where it’s due they were excellent.

Excellent response after last night's disappointment.
Strangely in both games this weekend, the defeated team outshot the victors.

I didn't see the game last night, but my mate went against the general concensus.
He thought we played OK, but the difference was Belfast were more clinical and had better netminding.
We did out shoot them last night, but got out shot tonight. It's often fine margins between a win and a loss.
A couple of weeks ago my mate came out with his usual sheet of stats and the one which caught eye was the +/- stats. I can't say Sam Jones has caught my eye, but he was 2nd on the +/-. Tonight he's +3.......he might not be flash, but based on the numbers he's having an outstanding season.

A hooking
A tripping
Puck leaving the D zone and played back in with Belfast getting a shot on goal.
Were there missed calls for that should have gone in Giants favour?
Just trying to gauge reporting bias or not.

Well although I went with a Steelers OT win, I’m really pleased and pleasantly surprised with an excellent win after the hammering last game.
Whilst the team have had some deserved criticism recently they deserve all the plaudits today as this is easily the best and most complete performance I’ve seen this year. We need to find that Steelers grit game in and game out.
Whistle should play in front of Traversa for me for the rest of the season.
Well done lads, enjoy the win.

They were missed calls for both teams but they let the game flow no stopping and starting a good spectacleShaun wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 9:53 pmFollowing on Twitter tonight, Peter Spencer mentioned 3 missed calls to Steelers detriment:House_of_Steel wrote:I’d like to mention the refs this weekend they normally get some stick from us fans but credit where it’s due they were excellent.

Great win tonight.
I think we are still in with a chance with only Belfast to beat.
I said earlier in the season on here Belfast were the primary threat this year but I think if we can stay healthy and play like tonight I think we edge it.
Unless we get more banana skins with the Scottish teams.
On the games Vs Belfast I've just been looking through the gamesheets between Steelers V Belfast for this season.
I make it we are 2 - 1 game wins up and we have put 10 goals past Beskorowany + 2 past Whistle after they pulled Beskorowany in the 7:1 defeat + 1 ENG tonight
They (Belfast) have managed only 1 past Brust and 7 past Stojanovic in the three games played.
They've had a good long winning streak in the league, but they are beatable, provided nothing happens to Stojanovic.
We just need to make sure to take all the rest of the games, especially against the likes of Fife and Manchester, seriously, because I think we have thrown points away against the bottom teams this season and put ourselves in a vulnerable position from what was a sizable lead.
Games to go, we've got Fife x 1 (A), Cardiff x 1 (A), Glasgow x 1 (A), Manchester x 4 (2H - 2A) Belfast x 3 (2H - 1A) and them lot down the M1 x2 (1H - 1A)
We need to take all 4 points from Belfast in the 2 home games.
I'm just glad it looks like we have a full roster again (minus Barry), hope it stays that way to the end of the season.

Sport tends to do things like this all the time, dead and buried one minute , back up and winning the next. We all spout off like experts on here, me included, but it is salutary to reflect that since the forecast polls have come in, about 1 in ten of us can predict the result ! ( apart from yesterday that is )
Great steelers like effort tonight . Well done boys.

Great result and well done to the guys. Sounds as if finally we got a true Steelers like performance. Glad to see two guys who I rate highly put on a show-ASD and Whistle. Our best all round d man with some snarl and a guy who's played extremely well when given the chance.
Now we have to play like that consistently for the rest of the season and we are in with a chance.

Why is it that when we lose, as we did Friday, there are 8 pages of comments on the game thread. Last night we played really well and won and we only get 6 pages…..
