Unless it is proved beyond any shadow of doubt it was a false positive or a active ingredient found in any medication he was prescribed then HE HAS played his last ever game for the club. It really is that simple...

A "non performance-enhancing drug" need not necessarily be a recreational one.
There are all manner of non performance-enhancing drugs on the WADA/UKDA banned list due to their potential to mask actual performance-enhancing ones, or the fact they can cause issues with the actual testing process (nitrate containing medications are a good example of this).
Aside from this many common, over-the-counter medications (such as Flu/Cold relief medications) also contain elements that are only banned during specific parts of the sporting calendar, which can and has caused issues over the years with sportspersons.
I would hold fire until DeLuca is able to make a statement personally. The rather broad strokes of the statements released thus far give a huge amount of room for conjecture.
Yes, this is me being reasonable regarding a Steelers player.
I'm going to lie down now.

Like I said above... He gets the benefit of the doubt for sure... but I would expect more meat on the bones very soon, not coming out instantly and denying any wrong doing on his part is the worrying thing...Howeaboutthat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 4:13 pmA "non performance-enhancing drug" need not necessarily be a recreational one.

I believe sportspersons are generally advised to initially make very non-committal statements for legal reasons.

yeah I agree that seems the way of things in recent times. I do however expect the club to clarify things as soon as possible in order to at least quell unwanted speculation and mud slinging especially, if its unfounded in any way...Howeaboutthat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 4:42 pmI believe sportspersons are generally advised to initially make very non-committal statements for legal reasons.
I expect its a tough wait for all those who have Deluca Jerseys on order for Christmas, I might be getting those changed real quick... the club wouldn't want that to develop into a issue...
