The latest article on the Steelers site (https://sheffieldsteelers.co.uk/the-run ... ontenders/) tells of the number of games in hand and the remining fixtures of the top 4 teams in the league... going on from this...

Steelers have 16 games remaining of which 5 are against top 4 teams (3 home and 2 away)
Giants have 18 games remaining, with 7 against a top 4 team (4 home and 3 away)
Devils have 20 games remaining with 8 against a top 4 team (3 home and 5 away)
Panthers have 20 games remaining also with 8 against a top 4 team (4 home and 4 away)

So with that information, it stands to reason that even tho others have the games in hand, quite a few of them are against each other, so as long as the games work out pretty evenly, and there aren't too many overtime/shootout points scored, it looks like the games in hand may not be as much of an advantage as it first looks.

Of course that doesn't mean that games against the other teams will should be taken for granted by anyone, there have been plenty of unexpected results this season!
