Sorry if this is going off topic a bit, but…when I look at ice hockey in the UK, it’s Steelers, Panthers, Giants and probably Devils and Clan who are the anomaly. All the other teams have buildings that can hold a couple of thousand and could probably survive quite well without the ‘anomaly’ teams, combining the other EIHL teams in a league with the NIHL teams would probably be quite successful. Looking at it from this perspective, we probably need them more than they need us.Brian wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 8:58 amLosing Fife costs the rest of the team owners money via less fixtures. Tony for instance would be 7,000 tickets fees down just last night.
As for being uncompetitive, 3 weeks ago I watched them beat the pants off us in Fife.
There are no teams good enough to take their place and none wish to do so, preferring to be big fish in smaller ponds.

I think the loss of any team at this point would make the league a tough watch, just in terms of variety. We’re better off than 8 teams ISL days of course, but not quite as good as 12 team BHL days.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Looch walked though, the reception received and nights like yesterday… it was written all over his face on the replays etc. last night. It did feel he was on the ice for a lot of those goals.. absolutely no effort to chase back on the Balmas break away goal.

From his performance so far I imagine he knew he had no chance of catching Balmas, though he definitely looks better than his first appearance here.MLL79 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 10:25 amI think the loss of any team at this point would make the league a tough watch, just in terms of variety.
