Past seasons i was not too fussed about watching the fife games,,,, but this season iam and thats down to some of the players they have on their roster, [ booth, lucic ,hunt, ] so it shows that if you dont have a silverware winning team you can still get the fans in by going down a different route . We need our forwards to carry on from last w/end and put the puck in the net BECAUSE one thing for sure is that our defence is going to let goals in. The team we have this season rely more on forwards winning us the games as opposed to defence winning us games as in years gone by,,,,,,, 5-2 steelers victory

Always had a soft spot for the flyers - first ever game my dad took me to back in ‘93 was us v flyers. Good times.
I must admit I’ve been taking an interest in their highlights since Lucic and co joined.
Highlights are of course what they are, but… Booth looks absolutely deadly - man marking is not a hockey term but if we don’t have a designated forward on top of him in our D zone we could find ourselves on the wrong end of the score line. He looks like he takes every chance/half chance and they’re in the top corner.
Keep an eye on Ritchie and Lucic, could be sparks, although tbh I wouldn’t fancy anybody’s chances v Lucic.
Could be a really interesting game. Feels like an uncomfortably close but entertaining 4-3 (to us of course!)

So the drama unfolds, what will the reception be for a Team which declined to play in their own club's Pride jerseys tonight despite being expected to do so after one of their players refused. Rumoured to be David Booth who, after a quick check of his twitter account seem to be a full on MAGA supporter so it's probably not unreasonable he would be anti LGBT as well as a few other things. The nominated charity for the game in Fife have told them where to stick it and refused any money and did not stay for the game.

Other plot twist, they relegated the pride jerseys to warm-up only, to which Booth did not ice for, and he was duly taken off injured in the match after around 90 seconds of ice time and did not return to the line-up. The charity was also only told of the change as they entered the rink.mark wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 10:20 pmSo the drama unfolds, what will the reception be for a Team which declined to play in their own club's Pride jerseys tonight despite being expected to do so after one of their players refused. Regardless of anyone's views on such themes/events, the time to change/pull out of it is certainly not an hour before face-off. It's also league sponsored so I wonder if they will make any sort of statement, regardless it's another massive public relations own-goal for Fife.

Wowser… it’s such a fraught/difficult topic at times.
They’re not doing too well at shaking the controversial are they bless them…
Do we know if Booth was physically/visibly injured on a play or was it a case of removing himself?
Be interesting to see if he ices this afts, on a hockey level it would be good to see him play (although I’m not sure our goalies and D would prefer to
).
Fingers crossed on a good game and good result later.

Not for the first time unfortunately. IF , it's just one player they should have been scratched from the game even if it is Booth, who let's face it, is not going to be there longer than the end of this season, in order to establish the fact that the club provides the jerseys and you are required to play in that jersey or you can leave.DiscoRay wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 1:25 am

I would not be too surprised if it were more than one though, the culture of NA hockey seems to reinforce that kind of thought process to the extent the NHL no longer does pride nights to prevent their entitled darlings from having their feeling hurt, and also probably in an effort not to draw the anger and attention of the clown in (their) white house.
Fife’s own match report would suggest he was injured during the game.MLL79 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 9:18 amWowser… it’s such a fraught/difficult topic at times.

Shame, as I was looking forward to seeing him play. He must be scared of playing in Sheffield as it’s two times in a row he’s been injured when playing us at home.
