If it is Nick Seitz out and Michel Heard in... I look forward to the official explanation on the explanation regarding Nick Seitz, if only to understand the reasoning behind such a poor transition into our team and or why he left.. he is or at least was decent player with the potential to put up good numbers in this league, So apart from fan speculation, its a untold story...

Heard is now confirmed as signed.
No news on departures, if any.
I see he can clock up the PIM's, as long as they're not stupid ones he could add a bit of bite we lack.

Confirmed Heard signs via WhatsApp. No news on anyone leaving in the message.
Heard could be our new Brendan Connolly, or could just go full loose cannon. But if he wants it and keeps his head, he could be a very good addition for us.

I am pretty sure that Fox wont have even looked at him if he though he couldnt keep him on a tight leash.
the Danger is of course as always with these type players, is when you rein in the natuaral game and personality you can then loose what makes them special in the first place...
Often ending up with a sumwat vanilla version of the guy you actually wanted...
I aways saw Tommy Plommer like this, when given the freedom and plenty of rope Tommy was simple unplayable, but if you stiffled that natuaral persona he often went missing in games... thats where coaches like Bliasdell earned there money, he knew wxactly when to send out the Plommer we all loved and when to keep him locked away

Another wait and see signing for me.
Good at faceoffs, which always gets a big tick.
A point/game in Glasgow last season and generally the same in the ECHL, which is not to be sniffed at.
Big penalty minutes, which will be an issue if he isn't taking an opposing player with him.
His +/- over time are also a bit iffy, which is probably the biggest concern for me.
As others have pointed out, we've had other players in the past who had a bit of a reputation of being difficult, but went on to be very good for us. Connolly certainly falls into that bracket and I think Brebant was possibly another.
No doubt more tinkering with the lines will now be required by Fox. Harper to stay on the wing with Heard taking up a centre spot? Tremblay back to 4th line duties?
No mention of Seitz, so maybe he's staying with the club or they're trying to find him a spot on another team. I'm kind of hoping he's been carrying a bit of a knock and he's going to get a good rest to get himself 100%, but i think that's wishful thinking on my part.
Regards

Locker room fall out. He's allegedly hard work, but as Doom says, so was Connolly and he fitted in just fine.
We've got players who can handle a physical game, but what we do lack is someone who plays on the edge. Heard gives that, and if we get 2nd half of last season Heard, he'll be a very good pickup

Im with Doom. Very much a wait and see, and seems an acknowledgement that not recruited well. I also feel it's a bit of a lazy signing if felt needed that sort of player to get him just because he became available. Must be plenty of similar players like that now available.

How is it bad recruitment? Most teams in the league would have looked at Seitz. It's been easy to see what Fox liked in players he signed, but it hasn't quite fully come together yet with a high number of new faces.paul johnston wrote: ↑Tue Oct 14, 2025 2:20 pmIm with Doom. Heard was arguably a top 5 centre last year in the league, hitting a ppg and then brings character/agitating as well.
Is he wait and see - of course, every player is. But if he comes in with the right attitude and keeps things in check, he's potentially a very good addition.
There's some really lofty expectations at the moment due to the GS year. Every team has lost games already, most have been up and down. Most poor one night and better the next. On paper looked too close to call between Sheffield/Belfast/Nottingham, with Cardiff/Glasgow not very far behind. Everyone wants a competitive league until they don't win every game.

Was clear to see that we were lacking a bit of snarl, blloody mindedness and physicality to take the load off Tansey.ginger wrote: ↑Tue Oct 14, 2025 2:45 pmHow is it bad recruitment? I have no issue with Seitz at all, nowhere do I single him out and I think hes not had the opportunity he should have.
Needing to add another import, when already carrying a spare, after only 4 weeks of the season, does suggest that team balance/recruitment has
Not been effective/"bad"
