Same here, would not bother me if all their players return. As we know it dosnt always follow on from previous seasons success to next. A team might not be great on paper or their players new to the league but if they gel and the biggie of staying injury free then that team could do really well. So many different scenarios come into play in being succesful. Who would want to be a coach ! when everybody in the crowd has their opinion on what should/should not be done.,,,,smbmetal wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 4:41 pmDidn’t work out too well for us for keeping many of the grand slam team. I suspect they'll have a number of others returning, rumours have Kawaguchi, Carpenter, Hanson and Cooper returning. I expect they'll look very similar to last year albeit with better Brits assuming Sam Jones rumour is correct and B Whistle does go there.
Good players? Yes, but as an opposing fan, I’m not particularly worried that they’ve got an awesome dominant team at this stage. I’m not sure we have either yet.

A few rumours of new players coming in, and apart from Halbert, I've not been overly concerned from what I've seen. Not terrible looking, but nothing that makes you sit up and take notice. However they've re-signed their top line from last year, and as players you'd happily take all of them. They'll be very good again but it's not likely they'll look streets ahead of anyone.smbmetal wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 4:41 pmDidn’t work out too well for us for keeping many of the grand slam team. I think Belfast, Nottingham and Sheffield will all look very similar, Cardiff probably close as well.
I wouldn’t take Conway even he was freeginger wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 5:24 pmA few rumours of new players coming in, and apart from Halbert, I've not been overly concerned from what I've seen. I think the person (personality) is far more important in a team than the player...
One bad apple spoils the barrel... A single individual's negative behaviour can corrupt or undermine the integrity of the entire group! There as been many a team ruined by one guy with a bad attitude...

I’d have him, he’s a great player. Also He can’t be that much of a bad egg in the dressing room. Belfast have won the league and multiple trophies every year he’s been there.
I was going to post something similar.Morpheous wrote: ↑Sat Jun 28, 2025 7:39 amJayboy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 10:48 pmI think the person (personality) is far more important in a team than the player...

He's undoubtedly got an ego and doesn't come across very well, but at our level, you can't question his ability.
I'd certainly have him at the Steelers, although I'm not sure Fox would want a high maintenance player like that.
You can't question the number of trophies he's won.

Not once have I questioned his on ice talent... he undoubtably has plenty...
Its his off ice talent, the one he seems most proud of, that I wouldn't want...
I really dont see how a narcissist, or someone with insecure and attention-seeking behaviour problem like he has and who also revels in belittling other teams fans and even players talents or lack of them is the type of player you would enjoy being at the club...
like Mark mentions above we already have the biggest ego in the league and look how that effects us....
