Realistically I can't see many wanting to fork out £16 for the 3rd place game anyway.
I think they'd have gotten more if they'd made some sort of package deal, even if they charged 40/50 for all four games they'd be up. Let's face it, not many folks will pay for the 3rd place game. Most fans I would imagine would pay to see their own team, so that's either 1 or 2 games depending on if they make it to the final. A package would encourage people to watch all games, and would be more likely to get fans from the teams not qualified paying to watch too.
Just my thoughts, I could well be wrong.
Hopefully next season.
I would have been quite confident against the Panthers if we were near to full strength, but with Golod and Simpson missing and Dowd, Vally and Vainio all having knocks, I think we might be a little too short benched.
It should be a good weekend of hockey, which is always more fun when the Steelers make it through.
Regards
Doom

Really hope we see Golod next year. I'd argue with full seasons this year, him and Fossier in Nottingham would probably have been the top points scorers in the league.
Both a cut above almost every other import in the league.

I agree that most people are likely to watch the one semi final game and possibly the final. I intend to watch our semi final and the final whether or not we make it through.NinjaBreadMark wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 9:29 amRealistically I can't see many wanting to fork out £16 for the 3rd place game anyway.

I think the EIHL lack imagination here by not offering a weekend package or multi game deal. What a waste of time the 3rd place game is by the way. Should be a maximum of £5 to watch that, as it’s an exhibition game at best.

I always find the NHL All stars skills challenges fun to watch. I think as no one really cares who comes 3rd, that place should be decided by players from the two teams competing in something similar to that.
Could fit a fair few challenges in the time a game would take, and would make things a bit more fun for the fans to watch. (although I still probably wouldn't pay full price for a stream of it)
