GAME THREAD: Flames v Steelers: SUN

Another good fight back, but we really need to stop relying on that 3rd period.
I think that's probably it for our title hopes, although we need to still believe and try to win all our remaining games.
I just don't see Belfast dropping 3 with their relatively straightforward run in which includes Fife 3 times.

Balmas OT pen carried on into pens. That seems harsh and for how long? Don’t know what the rule is here but it killed us.
Watling took the most pathetic pen I’ve ever seen. He dawdled down the ice and came to grinding halt in front of the netminder and then tamely put it into his pads. No idea what he was thinking of.

All things considered tonights result cannot be moaned about too much, that panthers game last night was a high tempo game for 60 min + o/time + penalties that surely had to take alot out of the players, then its a fair old drive to guildford and they are not a bad team on their day. Would of been happier with 2 points obviously but will not moan about the 1 point away from home. Just have to keep chipping away but belfast have their destiny in their own hands where as we are hoping someone can do us favours by beating them. Belfast just seem to be having that bit of good fortune which is needed to win league ie, playing teams that are hit with injuries -- getting decent run with schedule --and staying fairly injury free themselves, all theses scenarios play a part in taking league title,,,, just like last season for us everything fell into place,,,
Didn't see the game, but expected us to win especially with Guildford having almost a 1,000 mile round trip to and from Dundee.
Perhaps is was a game too far after the Panthers game.
We do now have a guaranteed playoff place though now with the point

Any penalty called after 63:01 carries on until the end of the game unless a goal is scored. Also means the player cant take a penalty shot should it go to penalties.Bryan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2025 8:59 pmBalmas OT pen carried on into pens. That seems harsh and for how long? Just my opion, but Balmas, probably our best penalty taker, was pretty silly to take a penalty with 2.3 seconds left on Ot, knowing that hewas key to us in the penalty SO, he is after all a seasoned professional
