Also, no iPads/tablets allowed. For the most part that’s fine but our eldest is severely autistic and needs an iPad to communicate.
They did let us in after confirming with their superiors but we were told to get an email from customer services for future visits.

What possible reason nowadays can you disallow a tablet but allow mobile phones? what reason are they giving?KAR wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 9:18 amAlso, no iPads/tablets allowed. For the most part that’s fine but our eldest is severely autistic and needs an iPad to communicate.

They didn’t give a reason, the staff were helpful enough so we didn’t want to aggravate themJayboy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 12:09 pmWhat possible reason nowadays can you disallow a tablet but allow mobile phones? what reason are they giving?KAR wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 9:18 amAlso, no iPads/tablets allowed. Whilst we are complaining re Arena - the queues to be scanned by security appear to be getting longer. Obviously sell outs mean more attending! I noticed this at the Les Miserable concerts - queues on the street level then up the steps before zigzagging to security. Nottingham & other arenas have walk through scanners with very few queues. I recall a trial was held at one of our home games but we don’t appear to be moving forward.

The door staff are tonight seem to be having bets between themselves how many they can upset, the quest to get in are horrendous and they seem hell bent on stopping you bring anything into arena apart from the cloths your stood up in.. Just spoke to one guy who was fuming about them actually telling him he had to many keys on his bunch of keys, he had a ring of keys as he had come from his work after locking up! We again got stopped telli g us we can't bring in a flat of warm water for the 2x babies milk.. Homemade Signs/ posters bigger than A3 are apparently not allowed now, and anything that course injury if you throw it on ice. So I told my daughter to take her boots off, they didn't see the funny side... It all seems rather pathetic and over zealous to me... And many fans were viable upset, cousin a negative buzz on concourse level... Is their really any need for the new over reach?

When the new company took over they said that their aim was to improve the experience of attending events at the arena.
Well I am afraid that they have failed miserably.
They seem to be trying to upset and alienate as many people as possible.
If the length of the queues were not bad enough then when you eventually get to the front you are made to feel like a criminal for carrying simple items such as a packet of tissues.
Surely for the sake of opening half an hour earlier it would make it a more pleasurable experience, you then have the time to buy your food and drink and I might even get to watch warm up for a change.
This is supposed to be a family sport therefore shouldn't the security be proportionate to the risk ?
I must agree with Jayboy it is creating an unpleasant atmosphere when normal, reasonable, people are treated in this manner and it is making me think twice as to whether I am prepared to put up with it.
The arena management and staff should take a leaf out of Nottingham Arena,s book, it has always been a pleasure to go there for ice hockey and concerts.

Safety is of course of paramount importance but there is a lot of over zealousness which makes me concerned it will seriously affect bums on seats. That would be such a shame after all the hard work building up the crowds. The present attitude is definitely not enhancing my match night experience.

So Sunday night they were getting people to empty their entire contents of their bags onto a table. Taking fredo frogs off the kids and confiscating frubes and crisps and any confectionary as well as non clear liquids. Stating they were contriband not allowed in arena..
We got asked to empty the babies nappy bag! And asked why a baby needs more than one flask of hot water..(we have 2 babies under 10 weeks) I told the guy I had a pot noodle ready to go! I am afraid he didn't see the funny side..
