How does Tansey do that? ENG from his own goal line, so we win. 4-2. It’s never pretty in Manchester. The puck spent more minutes stuck against the boards than I could count. Rightfully Greenfield wins MoM which says it all. Cardiff lose. There’s your positivity Mark!

I’d rather we showed the grit and determination not to lose than go searching for an A game we don’t seem to have at the moment.
Get a few more wins and it may come back as the confidence grows.
Well done on another win!

Edited by admin. There will be those who are happy as long as we win. Of course I want my team to WIN but if I’m honest it comes second to watching them play beautiful, intelligent, skilled hockey. We saw it possibly for not much more than 10 minutes tonight. At least in the third they battled well but there was little to admire other than that. Perhaps it is inevitable on that rink against that team, but it has become a pattern recently. I preferred watching the team that played impressively in the CHL even when they lost.
On the positive side, Greenfield is outstanding (even if flawed behind his net). Golod is an excellent discovery. Our PK was very good but our PP continues to be really poor. We have speed but our passing was often ill-judged and executed (perhaps inevitable with Storm in your face). It is but a shadow of the team in the CHL against far better opposition.

It is the W that matters and that should always be the case. Pleased to see we've gone into Manchester to ensure two wins on the bounce.
I've said many times that in general I feel that EIHL hockey (not just the Steelers) is poor entertainment in my eyes and is no longer good value for money with what is now charged for game tickets. And the Manchester stream at £16 isn't worth 16 pence IMO.
The grand slam of last season was an amazing achievement but even that season there wasn't many (for me) entertaining games where I've gone away and thought, that was a great game. Just pleased to get the win etc and really in competitive sports that's all that matters whether we play well/entertaining or not.
As you have said it's frustrating for this season as the CHL games that we saw this team play were some of the best hockey I've seen for years and years.

I have to admit to not getting as low with our teams poor displays as I used to, or as high with the supreme effort and fireworks of the great games either... The roller coaster ride that is a fans life supporting a team should really be levelled out a bit more than some fans seem to manage.. Especially given plenty of unknown circumstances and variables in play. A lot easier said than done for sure, but calling for a coach to get the freedom of the city one month and then for him to get sack (seen it all Online) the next month all seems a little to extreme to me..
