I was listening to Talksport last night and they were talking about Aston Villa.

They had an outstanding season last year and started strongly again this year, but in recent weeks they've really fallen off the pace.

The pundits are putting it down to their participation in the Champions League and all the extra games they're playing against top quality opposition. In league action the players are looking leggy and less dynamic than last season.

Sounds familiar?

Regards

I think that's a fair point, but the Premier League is one of the best football leagues in the world. In other words most teams in the Premier League would give most Champions League sides a good game.

We're going from playing quality opposition to the EIHL which is no where near the quality of the CHL.

Fife are no Berlin so we should have the quality to be beating the likes of those teams, tired or not.

From the outside looking in we don't appear 'up' for playing teams in our own league at the moment as we've seen what this team can do in the CHL games.

We look a carbon copy of Belfast of last season that struggled.

The bit that is puzzling for me is that I would be able to understand that if we had lots of new faces etc. But we brought the core group of players back who should know what it takes to win in the EIHL.
