Has Tanner been re-signed? Steelers Facebook seems to be hinting at that.

I agree.stans lad wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 2:05 pmI find it difficult to understand how anyone can announce signings when the structure of the season ahead is unknown, how you can draw up a contract with a player must be difficult.
I would have thought that a "statement of intent" was about as far as you could go at the moment.
Things are changing quickly so hopefully there will be good news soon.
Clubs rely very much on season ticket revenue and other incomes when looking to sign players pre-season. If I was in the market for a season ticket I certainly wouldn’t be buying one at the moment. If I were a sponsor, I wouldn’t be putting money into a product that potentially could only be seen by 50% of the fan base and that’s if arenas are allowed to re-open with that amount of spectators.
Without trying to put too much of a downer on things I don’t think UK hockey would be sustainable for most clubs without being able to get back to the ‘old normal’. I hope I’m wrong I really do.
Spot on. However much I’m willing to get back to normal, just can’t see it in the new world order we seem to have created on the back of the Covid outbreak.smbmetal wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 8:24 amI agree.stans lad wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 2:05 pmI find it difficult to understand how anyone can announce signings when the structure of the season ahead is unknown, how you can draw up a contract with a player must be difficult.

Fantastic some fans have paid for season tickets, applaud you for the faith placed but like the poster above states I will not be paying for something I may not see a return on until some definitive solid news is released about the upcoming season.
Sponsorship will be exceptionally difficult -my companies marketing budget for the next financial year is 10% the total of the previous year and that was a mid six figure sum. it’s been slashed, other companies will be in the same boat, discretionary spend cut.
I would be very surprised to see a full compliment of teams next season, the smaller ones I suspect will be mothballed, it’s just not sustainable if crowds are restricted, budgets have plummeted.
Fingers crossed we get some sort of season and I am so wanting to be positive for the immediate future, just can’t see it returning back to normal any time soon - maybe focus goes to season 2021/22 but does that kill of even more teams... who knows? Difficult times ahead suspect.
there can't be any season what so ever if Social distancing is in place. 2 metre space between people means the arena capacity is a couple of thousand at best. No gate revenue isn't feasible for any of the teams so it's no social distancing or no play.

Alex Graham potentially of interest in the CHL import draft & O'Connor to Guildford are the Steelers rumours I've heard.

My cheque was cleared in a matter of days. Might be worth contacting the club.paullindley wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2020 5:08 pmI was one of the faithful who has renewed my season ticket for the seats that i have had for the last 27 year.

Can't see us after Linglet, his legs were going last year and he's only getting older and slower.raetiamann wrote:EIHL rumours has today tweeted the following

Bowns was rumoured to Austria a while back so Ginn would be a solid replacement.
Not sure why Batch would swap Cardiff for Manchester either, downgrades don't come much bigger.
