🍊🏒 Question for you ...

If the Steelers chartered to Zurich for our final
@championshockey
game on the 8th October and you could join the team for the trip for less than £1000 would you?

No hotels, just in and out, what would the interest be?

My guess is the costs for doing so are equivalent to flights for all team and staff, + hotels and meals, so why not charter.

I reckon if they get 5-10 fans willing then I reckon that'll swing it to go for the charter option.

Won't be me though - although it would be a hell of an experience!

All depends if you've got the money to do such an experience.

We'll be in Tenerife anyway for 3 weeks and I've paid less in accommodation for 2 weeks in South Tenerife whilst we are there compared to what that of a plane trip.

Been a few strange reactions to this on the hellscape of X.

I just had a quick look, and standard flights+ hotel to Zurich are in the region of £400- 450 per person (or more depending on hotel). Now I suspect we would have around 35 people from the Steelers travelling usually. Bearing in mind you'd need flights and a hotel that could accommodate them all, and cost is roughly about £16k.

I checked a rough guide on costs to charter a plane, and suggestion is around £4-6k per flight hour. 2 hours approx to Zurich means somewhere in the 16-20k cost bracket.

It's an experience idea, which would cost the equivalent of behind the scenes day at an F1 team, a Michelin star restaurant for 3 people, etc . I can't see any issues at all with offering this out as an idea.

1 less travel day for players (becomes more like a there and back trip to Scotland), so seems like a perfectly fine idea.

As ever though, some seem to find the idea of the club trying to make extra revenue a problem - unless it's ticket prices, it's all optional!

I don't mind the idea at all, you may be paying a premium price but it's there and back with the flight timed at your convenience rather than subject to the whims of commercial passenger flights plus you get to travel on the "team bus" which will be an experience in itself and of course there are cheaper alternatives available, it's not like it's this or nothing so if you don't like the idea or are unable to find the money then it's simple, don't go on it.
