Another good road win, im pleased in a way that panthers made a game of it, from a hockey fan perspective it wouldnt of been great for a massive win after what their club and fans have been through , any other season yes but not this one. main thing its another win and bring on dundee

I thought we just about deserved it.
A great game of hockey and Panthers certainly didn't play like a team who have other things on their mind.
I think the Panthers just need a break, if they can get a win I reckon they'll kick on. Would be great to see them make the playoffs....not at our expense of course.
My man of the match would have been Nev, but it always goes to the guys getting the goals.

I'm happy with the narrow win under the circumstances. In my view it was the best outcome. The saying "damned if you do, damned if you don't" springs to mind. Obviously a loss would not be an option I'd have been happy with, but I would have found a huge win embarrassing. For me this was the ideal balance. That's not to take anything away from Panthers who obviously made a game of it.

Very powerful interview from Aaron Fox on the Panthers X feed; well worth a listen. Apologies I can't link it on here, but I'm off Twitter just now.
I saw the interview and he certainly pulled no punches.raetiamann wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 5:51 amVery powerful interview from Aaron Fox on the Panthers X feed; well worth a listen. Apologies I can't link it on here, but I'm off Twitter just now.
I'm not quite sure who he was getting at though, because certainly on The Cage the majority are supportive of their team. I try and avoid social media, because it's so toxic, so maybe a few on there have been taking a dig at their team.
As a team they just need a break, because there's clearly no lack of effort and the CV's suggest plenty of ability, at the moment though they just keep falling short at the crucial time.
This year I'd love to see them make the playoffs, although not at our expense of course. I think the Steelers Blocks would be supporting them.
On another note, I see the top two players on our +/- are Nev and Juusola. Was it Fox who said something on the lines of - 'if you want to win, get a Finn'?

Its not goalie interference if your dmen get in your own goalies way.
DOG penalties are called so players don't stop the flow of the game by playing the puck off the ice, so that the game then restarts with an equal chance faceoff.

Been a few idiots around social media, essentially a few panthers 'fans' not happy with results and unfortunately it seems to cross over with those who keep using the M word in relation to the AJ tragedy. Add a healthy dose of 'but it's just my free speech etc' mindset and you've got a set of idiots with no empathy.Doom wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 8:25 amI saw the interview and he certainly pulled no punches.raetiamann wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 5:51 amVery powerful interview from Aaron Fox on the Panthers X feed; well worth a listen. I stay away from hockey related Facebook groups as they are the worst, but I do look at X/Twitter. A lot of rubbish but there's a few who do at least speak some sense!
Ultimately, it emphasised for me why players seem to love Fox - emotional intelligence in spades. That's not to say he gives them an easy ride, but I bet he knows when to be hard on players and when they need an arm round them. Not surprising that we seem to have a team that would go through brick walls for him.
Best result possible I think last night. I'm like Fox though, I want to see Nottingham push on and get some wins. Those players deserve to smile a little again
