Playing in the AHL he'll be very solid, but I can't say I'm blown away by his numbers.
True, but a 25year old that's played 3 straight seasons in the AHL, putting up half decent numbers shouldn't be looking at the UK, surely?
Probably not, but maybe he thinks his best option is to ease his way into the bigger ice of Europe using one of the weaker leagues as a stepping stone. He'll also have the benefit of speaking the same language.
If you look at his AHL numbers they're not that different to Simpsons on a pro rata basis.

Don't Belfast have a squad now of 22, players?
If so doesn't this suggest that at least one or 2 may have signed to play in the CHL and get in the shop window before moving to another club?
I believe Belfast have 15 import out skaters + Besko in goal.
When Besko plays one of the imports will have to sit out. When Whistle plays they'll be able to ice all 15 import out skaters, assuming Besko isn't on the bench.
Looking at the quality of signings it’s looking to be the best EIHL since pre-covid for sure. Lots of ability being added along with a Glasgow with improved budget.
Giants have 22 on the roster, Josh Roach will start the season as injury reserve as he recovers from an injury that ended his season early, no import limit in CHL so all can play. In domestic games as mentioned we would have a healthy scratch, with Garside and Long both able to cover D we can easily cover a missing d man ie Baum, or if Keefe wants to rest a forward then they can move the lines around as needed, if Whistle starts and is backed up by Dickson then everyone can play so great options to have for Keefe.

You’re right, I think Belfast taking the treble last season has made other clubs open their eyes to how dominant they are, therefore having had to step up or face yet another year of the same dominance and at times last year in our case embarrassment.
