Very poor result at home. I’m sure our player budget is almost twice as big as Dundee’s.
Championships cannot be won losing to teams like Dundee at home. I don’t care how well Dundee played.
The team hasn’t been playing well for a while. Fairytale said on the podcast that losing against Dundee could see the championship gone. I don’t think he’s far wrong.
I think the broader point is, that continue to play like we did against Dundee (especially in defence) will see us blow any faint hope we had of winning the league.
We had better have got that point soundly over to the players or we could well get thumped in the challenge cup too..
Fox in my opinion as done wonders at this club and all this is sure to be a steep lurning curve for next season. I am disappointed with recent downturn but looking at the bigger picture I am far from upset, we are way way further along the road to being a proper Steelers team than we were just 6 months ago... If the season ended today I'd look back and be more than happy, we're miles ahead of schedule. It's just being in the mix for silverware has got expectations high again (maybe unrealistically?).
Definitely progressed from last season, and before that one too.
This season was always going to be a stabilisation season for me. The fact we're still in the hunt for every trophy at the moment speaks volumes for what Fox has done. And for that, we must be thankful.

I agree and thats my point really, we fans can be a fickle lot, I would rather remind my fellow fan how cold the porridge was before we got the cooker fixed, now we getting the ingredients right and there is a better taste in our mouths, the taste of the porridge we get served up at minute is just not as bad as it was... the odd round of burnt toast is better than gruel any day of the week...
I agree Jay that Fox has certainly brought back more consistency and better players.
For me though the league quality this year has gone backwards to the season before.
Cardiff & Belfast are not the teams of last season no where near.
Unfortunately and yes I know I’m very much in the minority I don’t think we’re as good as many fans make out. Better than last few seasons? Yes. Night and day better? Not for me.
There’s a strong chance if we don’t improve our form that we will win nothing this year. So on paper this team would be no better than teams before.
I’m afraid I’m yet to be convinced by Fox, but acknowledge he’s fixed the cooker.

I would agree about the pairing but does it make us weaker? He was a very good two way player, gave passion, filled the holes in D and up front, did exactly what he was brought into do. Stepped aside and his replacement has certainly not given us the same potency going forward. Makes us weaker against what we have at the minute. That could be debatable. The only problem was carrying the injuries. I'd take him injured against a few of those playing at the moment.

And at least we know who’s getting the big shop in now.
