Re: Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increaseblicity

Is the AO meant to be their permanent home or is it a stepping stone to a new purpose built facility? Regards Doom I was under the impression that the AO is to be their permanent home, but I’m not 100% certain. It would be a great venue to hold a ‘Magic Weekend’ as they do in Rugby League. All team...

Re: Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increase

The Steelers element of this increase is also well over inflation, but that may also be due to the arena wanting a much higher rental fee....I doubt the Steelers can afford to absorb this. I get it that arena costs will have risen substantially. The increase in minimum wage and NI was always going ...

Re: EXPECTATIONS 26/27

In all fairness, over the past two post grand slam seasons, we really have not had the hockey gods smile on us. As has been posted earlier in the thread, if Greenfield hadn’t picked up an injury against Berlin, we win back to back league titles. Last year in the build up to the playoffs, first we lo...

Re: EXPECTATIONS 26/27

I’ll be the optimist, my gut feeling is we’ll win one trophy, hopefully the league, but probably one of the cups. I just hope we have an entertaining team to watch.

Re: Rumours 26/27

At the end of the day, it's the chemistry they produce when they are on the ice together. A musical analogy would be the Beatles, none of them are ever mentioned individually as instrumental virtuosos, but together they created something really special. (I'd make an exception with McCartney though a...

I don't think Fox will go for a player like this, but I think we're now crying out for a Mathieu Roy or Joey Talbot type player.

Regards

Doom
Both/either of those players would be superb signings right now, I wish we had that Legue, Talbot Tessier line. They oozed class.

Re: Steelers signings and departures

I've found some faceoff stats for his time in Slovakia and it doesn't make pleasant reading, which probably explains why Fox didn't mention it in his interview: 21/22 - 42.11% 24/25 - 41.26% 25/26 - 44.56% (HC Presov) 25/26 - 42.10% (HK Spisska) I'm afraid this concerns me. If he's up against Conwa...

Re: Steelers signings and departures

Well I've been tasked with trying to convince my mate next weekend why we're genuine title contenders. Comparing our squad with Belfast, I'm not convinced myself that we are, but here goes: 1. We have Matt Greenfield in net. He might not have been quite at his best last season, but we know he can b...

Re: Steelers signings and departures

I’m puzzled. Since our grand slam and perhaps even before that, Giants are recruiting better than us. This is especially true for the top two lines. Are we not spotting the possibilities, do we misguidedly not assess them so highly? Or are we offering positions to some of these players and they are...

Re: Steelers signings and departures

I was just looking at potential Belfast forward lines: Goodwin/Conway/Piccinich Kawaguchi/Gaudet/Guay Cockerill/Bates/Pearson Shudra/Guay/Long Those top two lines are effectively their title winning top lines and the lines they had when they beat us 12 - 2 on aggregate in the double header. That 3r...
