Re: line up so far - how's it looking?

I am not sure that we will go with an import as backup netminder this year. Alex Oldale proved a capable backup for Manchester (for a few games) and if we are serious about using the Steeldogs as a “farm team” and creating a development pathway, we need to show that the opportunity is genuine. It wo...

Re: Steelers SIGNINGS/Departures. Confirmed only , no rumours please

This feels like a great opportunity to use the link with the Steeldogs and rotate a younger Brit in and out of the team, building their experience and creating a competitive environment for the Brits to earn (and keep) there spot. Looking at the Dogs recruiting so far, we have done this with the for...

Re: EIHL - SHUTDOWN

Interesting to see what clubs and the league do now re refunds, league title etc. To limit the financial impact, the league could give fans the option to guarantee their tickets for 2021 playoffs. For season ticket holders who renew then they could discount next years tickets to those that are renew...

Re: Do we need an extra Brit next season?

Yeah, guess 600 minutes might be a stretch. However, I do think that it would be a good idea to find a way to encourage coaches to use the back up netminders a little bit more.

Absolutely have to stay out of the penalty box to have a chance tonight.

I am hopeful that we will perform well this weekend, this season I feel we have a team that steps up for the big games.

Doesn’t mean we will come away with anything, too close to call for me.

Re: Do we need an extra Brit next season?

Personally I am happy to see the reduction in imports by one. Will it reduce the quality of the product on offer? Maybe. However if the clubs invest a little of the “savings” in a better quality import then we may actually see the league improve. Giving the opportunity for a few more Brits to develo...

Re: Do we need an extra Brit next season?

Fox (and the players) have all talked about the league being like a play off series and not really being able to take a night off. I think that although we will probably look to stick with the young players we have and develop them, their ice time may be limited as we play more 3 line hockey. Bringi...

Re: TEAM GB thread.

I always think that the 1st game is about the team gelling, especially with so little preparation. We should be better for the run out and hopefully we will be better against Estonia. And better again when we face the Hungarians. Will be interesting to see if playing 2 in 2 has an impact on those th...

Re: Play Off Weekend Info

I am a fan of the play offs in Nottingham, I think it’s a great location and has created a great weekend for hockey fans. However, I think that now is the time for the league to think seriously about finding a venue that can accommodate more fans. I am not sure what the options would be though. We c...

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v. Storm. Sat, 25th Jan.

Feels like every game is big for us now. We need to build on last weekends results to maintain the pressure on the chasing pack.
I expect Manchester to be up for this again, so there should be a bit of edge again.
