Re: Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increase

For TV, firstly, hockey doesn't translate well to TV generally as well as other sports, and requires well trained camera operators to keep coverage where it should be (how many times do webcasts mess this up and they must have been doing them for a while). It needs access to multi camera replays, al...

Re: Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increase

And to play Devil's advocate, maybe they already have tried for TV deals and bigger sponsers but those companies don't see value yet in British ice hockey? TV deals - obviously only good if on a major platform that already has a large subscriber base, or is free to view. Not going to get much if an...

Re: Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increase

curious,,,,, would anybody know a rough figure of how many season ticket holders there are,,,,, They said that there were over 1500 at the ST training session the other day, so more than that! Being a Tuesday night I'm guessing a lot didnt make it. We know of a few couples who didnt. I'd have thoug...

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v Blaze: Sat 7th March

Can’t put my finger on it but D looks more settled somehow of late. Dougherty. He's been quietly excellent for the last few games. I think was after the valentine's Coventry game, Fox mentioned he'd played through a broken finger(s) for the first half of the season. I suspect he's now at way more l...

Re: Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increase

I remember when my daughter was taking figure skating at Ice Sheffield about 10 or 11 years ago. One of the coaches told us that electricity cost £250k per ice pad per year. Leccy prices have roughly doubled since then, so costs are certainly ramping up. I dread to think what it costs - we have cer...

Re: Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increase

Whilst price increases are never welcomed, we are far from the only team raising them. It does suggest that general running costs are increasing across the board. The club has 2 options - swallow them and potentially reduce profit (or even only break even/run at loss) or to raise prices. What we don...

Re: Sound volume - again!

So is it no answer when raised as an issue, or is it just that the answer isn't "we'll turn the master down"? If it's no answer, then fair enough to keep asking, but if it's been answered and it's more "this is the best balance we can currently achieve" then I'm not sure what you want Steelers manag...

Fife in trouble again?

Seems to be a number of rumours (but definitely with legs) that Fife are in difficulty again. Rumours include players not being paid, suppliers not being paid, and all kinds of management failings. Whilst I don't want to see hockey teams go under, they've really not helped themselves with some of th...

Re: GAME THREAD: Panthers v Steelers: Cup Semi-final 1st Leg: Wed 18th Feb

I really don't think there's much between the teams. Wouldn't be shocked if it ends up in OT next week.

Moreso, I'll be hoping for a 2024 semi final 1st leg, where we scored against Coventry after 30 seconds and never looked back!

Re: Sound volume - again!

Again, all I'm saying is PA sound in an arena is a nightmare, and not necessarily always possible to get perfect, even if you have managed to get it that way previously. That's why I mentioned about new/condition/servicing of equipment. Crikey, even a couple of speakers being a couple of inches rot...
