Re: Glasgow Clan and Corey part company
Gotta remember as well, along with minority sport status, there's generally not a huge understanding/appreciation of the more technical/systems aspects of playing the sport compared to say your average football crowd. Don't get me wrong, it's better than it was in the past, but you're still selling ...

Re: Glasgow Clan and Corey part company
Wonder if there is anything other than league performance because they are exactly where I would expect them to be at this time. Unreasonable expectations, they'll never challenge for the league, might have a cup run but not to the final and do well to qualify for the playoffs Not sure on that - th...

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v Devils: Sun 25th Jan
Highlights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZhEZjScMak Having watched this back, definitely can't blame Dougherty on that second. Harper fans on his initial pass back up to him, so McDonald is way closer to Dougherty than he would have been. Really Harper should have reversed the puck back in to th...

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v Devils: Sun 25th Jan
I thought Southorn had a really good weekend generally. A couple of turnovers but that was about it. Other than that I thought he was very tidy in his own zone and much better offensively. Dougherty seemingly struggling with confidence. There's times when he makes absolutely brilliant little plays i...

Also, gonna whisper it, but the D was better without Huttula. I like him, but he's not been great this season generally

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v Devils: Sun 25th Jan
Good results around the league also - Belfast and Nott both losing, although Belfast picked up a point with the OT loss. I know we shouldn’t rely/hope/etc on others results but, as they say in Tesco…. We still have 3 league games against Belfast to come, same with Cardiff and 2 left against Notting...

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v Devils: Sun 25th Jan
Built off last night and despite going behind twice, deserved to be leading after 20. Very good 2nd period, and probably the most relaxed I've felt when managing a lead for a long time in the third. Just vastly improved decision making everywhere. Harper/Heard/Ritchie outstanding all game, but no on...

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v Storm: SAT 24th Jan
Much better performance all round, better decisions with the puck and positionally. Watling is getting back to true game speed and it showed, not just with his goal but he was so much more involved and felt like he had his step back both on offense and on the back check. Ritchie looking more comfort...

Re: Jason Lafreniere RIP
Very sad news indeed. Best wishes to his family and friends. Just a little bit before my time, but quite a few of the old school fans I know certainly hold Jason in very high regard indeed. I’m sure the club will have a suitable tribute ready for our next home game, which would be great to honour h...

Re: What happens now!
There's issues top to bottom at the moment, apart from goaltending. D - poor transition (Cormier the exception), poor decision in own zone, poor decisions on jumping in to play, and awful coverage from all 5 skaters in the zone. F - can't bury chances (Balmas the exception), not taking good shots an...
