A lot of us started watching hockey in the 90s, when the game was very different from today. Coaching systems and the technical aspects of the game are now way ahead of where they were then - for any football fans, I'm sure you can appreciate the parallels. The 'coach jargon' Fox used in his intervi...

Realistically, if Fox goes before the end of the season it's unlikely you get more than a stop gap coach before planning properly for the following summer and a (hopefully) more long term appointment. Fox is one of a very small number of coaches without previous UK experience (playing or coaching), ...

Goaltending aside, major issues all over the ice. Just unacceptable level of play and there's major problems with systems. If the players can't make it work, it's got to change. I'm never going to say Fox is a bad coach, because he's clearly not, but there comes a point for nearly every coach where ...

A very poor performance from a very vanilla team. Most players were well below the pace/anonymous and some of those who weren't so anonymous weren't for good reasons. I liked most of Jasper, Archambault and Whistles game, the rest? Nah. I won't mention coach and coaching decisions. It's like a stuc...

Faceoffs were certainly an issue last season and I think Fox realised that when he put this team together. It's still very early doors, but alarm bells are ringing a little bit for me, because this is the one area we do still seem to be struggling. My expectations before the start of the season wou...

Btw we have dragged the faceoff data back to almost equal now. Not sure what has changed, perhaps some different centres. I must look more carefully in the third. Face offs are a way more nuanced art than most realise. Good draw takers will sometimes deliberately lose a couple so they can work out ...

Steele had 9 minutes of ice time and IBN had about 8.5. Both had more ice time than Betteridge, Kelsall and Larkin for Nottingham. Every coach shortens the bench when chasing a game (which we were for about 50% of the game), and in Nottinghams case, even when not. I know we all want to see young Bri...

I have say I’m afraid that I thought Archambault penalty efforts were really poor. He ambled up to the goalie and came to a halt and tapped it straight at him.

His first one that he shelfed was an absolute peach though.

If a goalie plays your move there's not a lot you can do

Every major error ended up in our net tonight. And we still got 2 points. Gotta be happy with that. First 2 periods definitely in our favour despite the score line at end of P1. Missed a couple of grade As in the first which make it a different game. 3rd period not great and definitely advantage Gui...

Guildford were without Brown, Racine and Busch last night, not sure if all still missing for tonight but puts them down to 4 D. Hopefully we can take advantage of some heavy legs, especially when I think we eased up in the third last night.
