Re: Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increase
Did those other sports pay to get TV coverage? And as you say, BBL is a stability disaster so did the TV deal do anything for it? Did the broadcaster see any uptick in subscription? Would a TV deal effectively replace potential lost income from webcasts? Sponsership again isn't as easy as "here's a...

Re: Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increase
And to play Devil's advocate, maybe they already have tried for TV deals and bigger sponsers but those companies don't see value yet in British ice hockey? TV deals - obviously only good if on a major platform that already has a large subscriber base, or is free to view. Not going to get much if an...
Re: Cup final
Could they introduce the concept of a bye week or 2 (separate) weeks scheduled into a regular season when a specific teams do then do not have a game, allowing them a week off... This could then serve has the cup final week and maybe also a free week to reschedule into for other rearranged fixtures...
Re: Cup final
Make it a 12:00pm face off on a Saturday or a Sunday, then most people who wanted to watch the stream could do so before heading out to see their own games? Unfortunately doesn't work either, as you have no idea what games to schedule/cancel in the summer's fixture meeting, with no idea which two t...
Re: Cup final
It always makes me chuckle that a premier trophy event final is made a mid-week game. Should always be on a weekend IMO. While I think most would agree with that, the problem shifting to a weekend is you can't then make it a "showpiece" match as the only game that day. The other clubs not involved ...

Re: Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increase
curious,,,,, would anybody know a rough figure of how many season ticket holders there are,,,,, They said that there were over 1500 at the ST training session the other day, so more than that! Being a Tuesday night I'm guessing a lot didnt make it. We know of a few couples who didnt. I'd have thoug...
Re: Cup final
I'd be fuming if I was a Blaze supporter. I certainly was expecting Blaze to be the home team if they beat Belfast. In future the league should be much clearer. The highest seeded team gets the final, as long as it's one of the arena teams. I've always felt the integrity of this competition is ques...

Re: Fife in trouble again?
Jamie Russell @JamieRussell18 Effective immediately I am resigning from the Fife Flyers. In good conscience I cannot continue in my role as GM/Head Coach for the Fife Flyers. It has been an honor to work with these players and this staff. I adore Scotland, Kirkcaldy and the Kingdom of Fife. I think...

Re: Cliff Pu - Sentenced
The fine itself is very little punishment in my opinion. The effect on his future will no doubt be a bigger cost to him but less than 2 grand is no real punishment at all I wouldn't really say so in regards to that, just look over the pond and the amount of times teams still sign players with simil...

Re: GAME THREAD: Steelers v Blaze: Sun 15th Feb
As I've been saying for years on the subjects of refs, if clubs have an issue they need to complain to themselves about it, since the clubs run the league. Want different/better officials, gotta pay for'em! But we do pay them. By "pay" I mean pay more, to make it worthwhile for current refs to trav...
