Re: Steelers signings and departures
Welcome to Sheffield Aatu. My favourite part of the signing article: "With significant experience in Liiga and a reputation for strong defensive play , mobility and competitiveness, Aarnio adds size, stability and quality to the Steelers blue line as preparations continue for the 2026-27 campaign". ...

Re: Team at a glance..
Personally, I’m not excited about any of our new signings so far. I’m afraid I don’t rate Fox’s recruitment. He’s got it right once in 5 seasons, or however long he’s been in charge.

Re: Steelers signings and departures
Im not surprised that hes gone, and when think about it less surprised than others that it's to the Giants Cole fulfils a hard checking, physical, hard working fourth line role. Expectations of him racking up pts are ridiculous. Sadly our fans and I'd also say our coach don't see the value of this....

Re: Steelers signings and departures
It’s a great debate, especially the Brit goalies one. For me, I don’t want an import limit at all. I’m of the school of if you’re good enough, you’ll play. Unfortunately, that model, (financially), went to the wall very quickly under the old ISL days. We were treated to some superb hockey though und...

Re: Steelers signings and departures
As a fan, I would be happy to give a Brit goalie the opportunity to play 15 or so games in a full season, even if that means we might lose the odd game. There has to be noticeable improvement though. Therein lies the problem, a few losses could be the difference between silverware or another season...

Re: Steelers signings and departures
A 1B Brit goalie would always be an ideal scenario for any EIHL club. The reality is it's almost impossible to achieve at the Steelers without taking a bold or risky decision to, for example, play him in all the CC cup games. Thing is, a Brit goalie isn't really going to get much better if they're s...

EIHL Other Team's Rosters 2026/27
A handy link on the EIHL website to see updated rosters of other teams.
Looks like we have a new great name back in the league with Jake Sacratini, son of the pain in the rear Vezio

Re: IIHF 2026 World Championship
Even if GB do get relegated, they've proven that they're more than capable of returning.
I just think it's a shame that the fantastic achievement of playing in the top pool is not more nationally recognised.

IIHF 2026 World Championship
I'd forgotten this was on.
2 losses for GB so far.
It's still a tremendous achievement playing in Pool A once again.

Re: Team at a glance..
As it stands now, I don’t think they’ll be too many complaints from most fans. All the re-signings were on my own retain list and we have one new face and a previous player who we all know as a decent Brit in Whistle. Perhaps Diffley would complete the ‘core group’ of returnees. I’d also like to see...
