Re: Steelers signings and departures

From an observation point of view only - we seem to be young at the back and old up front. Typically it’s the flip of this.

They’re hardly inexperienced, just interesting it’s going that way.

Re: Steelers signings and departures

Looks good, I’m expecting a Scott Alan/Mark Simpson - esque guy, which would be great. As others have said this will go some way to address the bane of last year. Along with Whistle, who I also remember being good at it, we will hopefully be stronger on average at face off wins this year.

Re: Steelers signings and departures

Yeah statistically doesn’t look great, so I wonder if he’s a speed/tempo guy primarily. I noticed also he’s a RW, for me, I hope this doesn’t mean Tait is now a goner…

I would imagine this is a 2nd/3rd line RW toss up with Jasper maybe

Re: EIHL Other Team's Rosters 2026/27

They seem to be pretty busy! I guess Wallace will have had a good look at the best of the NIHL over the last few years and will be hoovering up the talent. Fife could be interesting this year - for different reasons than last!

Re: Steelers signings and departures

Doom yep good points. I always felt Saucerman and Diffley were a good combo - but I’m probably guilty of harking back to the grand slam season. Heard I would see as stepping into Tremblay’s role, and being that 3rd/4th line role player rather than a consistent scorer, although he did have streaks. ...

Re: Steelers signings and departures

I would be surprised if Fox didn’t retain Tait. I would have thought work rate, speed and playoff production tips him over the 50/50. Of course we won’t find out if it’s a case of tried and failed to re-sign until afterwards. Wonder if they’ve approached Heard, he was perhaps my last of last years f...

Re: Steelers signings and departures

Really happy with this news - one of my must have back guys. As others have pointed out - so many good qualities.

Re: Steelers signings and departures

Good points definitely.

I was kind of thinking why limit things to the minimum number of Brits when Watson and IBN flanking a Tremblay-esque centre would make a perfectly serviceable 4th line. Bit of a moot point now anyway lol

I really don’t understand how we can let Kyle Watson leave. He always gave 100% for the team and I thought his skill set was good. Yet another young Brit that we have lost.
Absolutely, seems crazy…
